If doublestress becomes too meta defining, will we see a return of Tycho?

Perhaps

We should also see more named vipers

They care far less about stress than soonts/corran/poe and co. (Systems, thrusters + Ept + action independent abilities)

Have the lists for Team Epic been posted anywhere? I am curious what has been going on in that side of the game.

Team Epic was a big hodge-podge. Quite a bit of Scum, actually, and sadly not that many Epic ships. I suspect some of that has to do with the requirement to travel - they're not exactly suitcase friendly, are they? - and some of it has to do with the overall "meh" factor of some of them.

There are a lot of options that don't particularly care about stress. Tycho and Keyan. Then there are the ways to get non-action actions. Kyle Katarn crew and K4 Security Droid. Bossk crew. FCS. Wired.

I think there were a good number of epic ships (most tables I looked at that could field one had one but not all). Also, there's the fact that Scum doesn't have an option for one. Not that most people played super competitive, but big ships are also sorely inefficient since there are too many ways to build small fighters that will beat them up badly and quickly -- TLTs being the latest. That said, on reddit, someone said that there was a team that brought 16 TLTs and then lost because they matched up against an assault missile ordnance list....

Yep, Drew and I got a decent matchup against the 16 TLTs: 4 HLC defenders, 3 assault missile bombers with jonus, 3 shadows+Howlie, and Kagi. All PS3+. Landing a couple Assault missiles that did 7 splash damage was glorious ;) . Oh, and Drew's Defenders evaded TLTs like a boss.

We just need FFG to make a rule change that allows TLT hits to be transferred off of Xizor, then the rise of the Prince will be real!

But yea, Guri is a fantastic option as well in this high-stress meta because of her ability. I've been running with her SenJam, Pred, and AT. Just murders TLTs.

I remember looking over my shoulder where you were playing and seeing a giant block of 16 TLTs.... and then they were all gone.

SenJam is really the only way to get her to Xizor levels of "I don't give a ****"

been flying her with Palob for the ultimate lols (blockers would replicate the effect, but I'm taking a break from Zs)

they can bump, get stressed, fly through rocks; they just don't care. They're still getting focus (maybe even your focus!)

but yeah, Jammers are incredibly legit. I love just getting that free "evade" without having to roll greens ^_^

The aftermath of the assault missile and HLC volley (so long, shields!):

major....you are a giant among men, thanks for all this its very informative

I need to get a German damage deck! That's the best harsh language there is and there's nothing harsher than crits.

VOLLTREFFER!

German - the only language in which you need two whole lines to write TLT.

Which list won the epic tourney?

Which list won the epic tourney?

It wasn't a tournament, it was one round. The "winner" was determined by the faction that won the most games. Of who that was, I have no idea.

The factions tied 11-11.

How did Scum factor in? Not enough representation to compete?

How did Scum factor in? Not enough representation to compete?

They were assigned to either side to even out the numbers.

It was rebels vs imperials, Scum filled in as either.

If anyone is interested in seeing the list that placed 204th, I finally posted mine.

Looking back at the results i'm baffled they didnt go to TOP32 for elimination rounds. Close to 300 people and 8 rounds of swiss, yet the deciding factor between the guy who got in at #16 and the guy who dropped out at #17 was 11MOV points.

Hard not to feel bad for him, that is less than 1 tie fighter difference in 8games, to state the obvious.

There was basically a whole group of people who did very well (75% winrate) at worlds, yet they couldnt get into elimination rounds.

Is there any info why they didnt do top32? Were they under a time restriction for the last day? It's just 1 more game, hard to imagine they wouldnt have been able to do this.

I heard that it was a standard cut to 16 in all the game systems. If they were to expand to 32 in xwing, there may be expectation that all the other systems would want the same treatment- which would add almost another days worth of hours to the event.

Tie breakers are always rough on someone. It doesn't matter where the cut is.

I think the main goal of 8 rounds was to make sure all X-1 made it in without going to tiebreakers. It was actually a better cut in that respect than most large regionals.

They don't have to be. You can select the cut, rounds, and player count so there are very close to zero players getting in on tie breakers.

Incidentally, if they did a cut to Top 32 there would have been no tie breakers. #32 had 30 points. #33 had 29 points.
