I can agree with the sentiment. =) Though few of us play at levels where skill seriously overwhelms luck. I'm barely there. I know why I'm beating some of my opponents. Some of them are mostly convinced they rolled bad, or I rolled well... for the last 7 games in a row.

Interestingly enough, I would actually posit that now that we have the whole year of data and post MOV fix that the game wasn't actually "balanced" in a diverse way.

Our currently hugely diverse wave7 meta + MOV ruling seems a lot more balanced to me.

wave4 was literally 3tier1 and about 8tier2

wave5 was 5tier1 (add chiraneau and dash. MORE TURRET) and perhaps around the same tier2.

wave6 still dominated strongly by the above. Add IGs (more large ship, 2 ship).

currently, what do you all think are the tier1s and tier2?

t1 i count about 8!

t2 is super diverse and tons of things are relatively competitive

Do you mind explaining what you mean by 3tier1, 8tier2 etc.? Does it mean something like 3 Fat Hans and 8 Whispers in Wave 4 Worlds attendance or cut?

I was actually having a discussion with some local X-wingers about what they think will win Worlds and every one of us said it's way too hard to predict. The meta just seems so healthy right now. I think now that the TLT alarms have quieted down a bit, people are realizing Imperial Aces are the real monsters with Fat Turrets and Panic Attack phasing out (due to TLT spam lists for both and MoV changes for PWTs) and Palpatine being the new C3PO flavour.

Personally, I dread flying against Soontir, Vader, Palpatine, so I'll put my money on that list being in the top tier. No idea what Tier 2 will be, but wouldn't be surprised if it was Kenkirk with Ysanne and Palpatine & Ace.

I like the idea of FCS IGB with Crack Shot, but I wonder how it will fare in the mirror match against VI Iggy (not that that's necessarily an issue)
