Congrats to the 3peat BEAST.
Better luck next year YOUNGLING.
No Imperials to be seen... and S&V still
floundering
struggling.
BUT WOW... list balance if not faction.

wouldn't consider 3rd and 4 Missing and floundering.
Yeah, 2 different Scum lists made the cut. And 6 Imperials as well. While that isn't great for scum, I would hardly call it floundering.
Do we have a 3 time repeat champion, or is this a Phever dream?
Anyone able to do a rundown on the top 16 match-up between quad TLT and Obsidian swarm? Everybody seemed to say that Obsidian Swarm was a good counter to 4TLT?
Did he even lose a game in those tourneys?
I doubt it, but I don't know what his record was. I'm pretty sure they played fewer games last year though.
I don't think Paul Heaver has ever lost a game in his life. He's the Paul Bunyan, the Johnny Appleseed, the Pecos Bill of X-Wing.
Where can we see the replay? Link?

Gencon is where he has his roughest matches
Here are the links to all the replays, if anyone is interested:
What happens if Paul wins again NEXT year? Do FFG ban him from tournaments?
Of course not. Dominant players are weirdly good for competitive events. See what happened when Tiger dominated golf, or Jordan dominated basketball, or Kasparov dominated chess. All grew immensely in popularity while there was a dominant force because it creates a great storyline.
Edited by GiraffeandZebraYeah, it's why Tiger wasn't DQ'ed at the Masters a few years ago...

It also shows people that while there is a luck element to the game, it is primarily a skill game. That should make people more eager to play.

Redacted till we see FULL FULL Lists... at least top half. I was actually pretty surprised to see a 4TLT make the cut at all...
I am astonished. This is amazing! Now when ever I get told that a game was decided soley by the dice I can say "And that is why we had the same world champ 3 times in a row now?". Again with the smart meta choices, excellent flying and that tiny touch of luck he really showed us how to be good at this game.
Thats not true. Skill is the most important factor. But dice is huge too.
Look at what Paul flew all three years. Its all lists that pretty much don't live by their green dice.
If you want to win, don`t fly Empire.
Sorry, earlier meant Paul and Nathan both skipped out on PWTs. TLT doesn't count as far as I'm concerned.
Rebel resilience notwithstanding, I think Imperials and Scum both had fair representation and solid diversity. I think the mix at World's was very healthy.
Actually, Paul Heaver's real name is Nathan Eide. Nathan was so bored 25 years from now because no one ever beat him, so he came back in time to play himself in finals. Only thing is that so much concentration in tournaments actually made him a bit forgetful over the years, and he missed the correct year to come back to by two.
Sadly not even him can beat himself.
Edited by mtreinA list with TLT wins. Not surprising really. And how about that X-wing fix.
So Paul went
12-0 for 2015
11-0 for 2014
Not sure his record in 2013 but I know that he also won my vassal tournament on the same day with the same squad. Skill when it counts!

Ah, that's true, he's lost at GenCon.

When the lights turn on he focuses up, brah!

So we're judging a card by how it performs at a tournament held before it is actually released?
I'm confused...

This is actually another example of how well Alex and others at FFG has crafted this game. Integrated astromech is great but Poe will have to give up autothrusters to take it.

It's funny
I almost had the list Paul had
When tweaking my tarn,Stresshog,4z build
To switch out ion turret for a tlt I had to give way a z95. But one tlt wasn't that good, so I thought another y, so out went two more z 95 and then thought poe?
Didn't think that would work well. Lol
Granted I didn't think of R2 and veteran but now I see why
Well played sir

TWO TLTs. And one fixed in forward arc.
