2015 Worlds Results

By MajorJuggler, in X-Wing

@FFG: Paul is OP. please nerf. okaythankyoubye.

:-D

well deserved, paul! both the victory AND the nerf! ;-)

Was really hoping the Y-wing range one primary sealed the deal.

Next Paul Heaver designed card:

Modifaction:
Paul Heaver Deflector shield. (15 points)
If a ship equipped with this card is the target of an attack by an opponent named "Paul Heaver", add +2 Evade to the roll.

Worth every point.

Very well played by both, something to rewatch at work this weekend.

Inconceivable!!!!

I think Paul proves very little luck decides this game.

Also balance is great in this game right now.

Have to congratulate FFG on such a great Worlds.

Great diversity in the meta. Fantastic flying on the stream. And Paul Heaver going up against a 14-year old prodigy? Just awesome X-wing.

Heaver shouldn't allowed to have 100 points. Maybe cap him at 90.

To be the man, ya gotta beat the man.

What happens if Paul wins again NEXT year? Do FFG ban him from tournaments?

Loved the diversity in this meta! The game is in such an amazing place currently!!

Alex just confirmed on stream Paul's card from last year will be in Wave 8, curious to see this one. Stay on Target was interesting but failed to make a splash.

Haha, very cool! Well done, Mr. Heaver!

I always think back to a post last year, describing powerpoints and meetings, and prep work.

I wonder how much work went into this year!

So what where Paul's 3 winning lists.

Xxbb?

Far Han and 3 z

T70, yyz

I do like the diversity of his current list even if it's a bit of everything

Cool he got the new mat.

Amazing Worlds. Great Stream work on FFGs part and the reporting in the forum was great, thanks Sozin.

Yeah it was great getting to watch every single round as it happened. I've spent the last two days stuck to my computer.

An amazing game and an amazing tournament. Congrats to Paul and Nathan both, especially for cleaning up with turretless 3x and 4x Rebel squads.

Paul had a TLT in his (2, but one was fixed with the title)

especially for cleaning up with turretless 3x and 4x Rebel squads.

Paul had two turrets sorta. One with the BTL-A title so he couldn't shoot out of arc, but the other Y-Wing could.

"I really want to design a bunch of X-Wing cards, but I don't work for FFG, so I guess I'll just win worlds repeatedly." - Paul Heaver, probably

Wow 12-0 is an f'ing impressive record.

What was his record in the last two Worlds? Did he even lose a game in those tourneys?

Did he even lose a game in those tourneys?

I doubt it, but I don't know what his record was. I'm pretty sure they played fewer games last year though.

One less in the qualifier I think and one more in the elimination.

I am astonished. This is amazing! Now when ever I get told that a game was decided soley by the dice I can say "And that is why we had the same world champ 3 times in a row now?". Again with the smart meta choices, excellent flying and that tiny touch of luck he really showed us how to be good at this game.

Does three wins mean that Paul Heaver gets to keep X-Wing?

Does three wins mean that Paul Heaver gets to keep X-Wing?

I'm fairly sure that's how it works.
