Overlapping ship

By Chris Smith, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

When you overlap a ship the rules say:

"If a ship executes a manoeuvre and its final position would overlap another ship, it cannot finish its manoeuvre normally. Instead, temporarily reduce its speed by one (without changing the speed dial) and move the ship at the new speed".

Can you adjust the course on the manoeuvre tool based on the new speed or do you have to follow the original route. I have played with two different groups that both did this differently.

It makes sense to follow the original course but it is not explicit. I just wanted to check.

No restrictions on maneuver tool after speed adjustment due to collision

Original course.you can measure without locking but once u lock in u can't change. So you could pre measure the once u lock in the movement changes from what you had expected :)

No change allowed.

This is the ONLY time you are allowed to overlap the Maneuver Tool.

Lots of people seem to miss that: if you ram, you just leave the template in place and back the ship off until you're not overlapping. Don't change the speed dial, don't rearrange the template, nothing.

yep, tool is locked once it is inserted in the base, all you are doing is coming back along the notches until you find one that you can fit in (or end up in the original place).
