It has been drifting that way for awhile. I don't visit nearly as often as I used to. I don't know if it's the fact that it has turned into a bunch of over-competitive posturing driven by the podcast crowd or 40K exiles or what, but the civility and helpfulness, the whole "Fly Casual" motif, has all but evaporated. It's now all number-crunchy, min/max, exploiting imbalances in the game, tournament prep as SERIOUS BIDNESS, whining about "broken" cards, pontificating about the "right" and "wrong" builds, and the like. It's very tiresome and has greatly reduced my enthusiasm for the game. It's the same sort of BS that killed my enthusiasm for 40K, even before GW completely tanked its rules.
I find that I enjoy my time with other games much more than X-Wing these days, and the decline of the forums is a big reason why.
