IDW's TMNT comics

(I need something new to talk about with all the spam in the main forums)

Anyway, I was finally able to pick up #50 this week. My mind is still blown from such a great issue. Easily my favorite version of Shredder among the various incarnations. And such an exciting new status quo. Sad about the loss of the artists, since they were great. And not sold on the new guy for #51. But, I think I just need to get used to it.

I've just loved this series, even if it took a bit for the new origins to sink in. But once the key of the new origins is revealed, it has quickly become my favorite origin. I love the mixing of the various pieces of continuities (Rocksteady, Bebop, Hun, and Pigeon Pete all in one series, hell yes). And I am eagerlly awaiting the Descent/Imperial Assault-style game from Descent's original designer based on this continuity.

Anyone else following this series?

Not yet, but I am intrigued. Especially if we get a neat game to go with it. I was there for the original comics back in the day and played countless hours of Palladium's old TMNT RPG.

I do need to pick up IDW's reprints of the originals.

I do strongly suggest picking it up. There is a sense of it being similar to Marvel's Ultimate line, in the way they do a lot of reimagining. And they are taking stuff from every single incarnation. Hell, they just brought in characters from the Fast Forward cartoon. And the reinventions they do so far have been great. Along with a healthy dosage of new stuff. This is how you do a reimagination. Though I do warn you. The start of the series is a bit of the shock. If you go for the normal tpbs, you won't get the full origin until the start of the second tpb. The new collections may be a better way to go.

I'm excited for the game. I've heard good things about Doom and Descent 1st, though I do love Descent 2nd and Imperial Assault. From what the designer has talked about, it sounds like great fun. And I am down from TMNT minis. I mean, I am almost tempted to pick up the Heroclix, but then I realize I would be supporting Wizkids.

Wait, Wizkids is still evil? I tought they got better after Neca brought them back from the dead.

So what's wrong with them now? Well besides them geting me adicted to colored cubes...

lol

They got worse. Near as I can tell, playtesting has all but been eliminated. They've gone pretty crazy with con-exclusives and special figs for prizes. We are talking about OP only sets here.

Ah I see. Atleast they now manage to actually get stuff produced and shipped out. Old wizkids somehow managed to ef up the production of Horrorclix: The Lab, so it wasn't allowed into Europe. wich meant it completly killed the game over here and sent me into a rage of red lantern like proportions .

If everyone is OP then nobody is. ;)

You mean, like how they had to limit retailer orders to 25 cases for their latest release. A week before release. Also, sort of got kicked out of Gencon's retailer hall.

Any way, IDW's TMNT. There is nothing greater than seeing a serious take on Krang, Rocksteady, and Bebop.
