For some reason i like isd and vsd 1s better. 2s seem too expensive (there is a thread on it right now actually). The only nice option the isd 2 offers are defensive retro fits, if you are not taking one i'd downgrade to an isd1.
Other than that it looks good.
Edited by oddeyeI think the VSD-2 is worth every point over a VSD-1. VSD-1's are just.... they're disappointing.
ISD-1 looks promising, though, since it has the speed to get close. Agreed that the only reason really to invest in an ISD-2, though, would be to get the defensive upgrades.
Vsd 1s are amazing in my experience. Great carriers, can take a beating and if you out manuever your opponent they are devastating. Plus 73 points isnt half bad even if you lose one.
But they're never 73 points, they have upgrades and titles to make them into decent carriers.

they really don't need any upgrades nor titles to be carriers
people seems to enjoy gong overboard on squadron support when it is really not needed in the slightest. At most, a carrier "needs" (not really) either hangars or comms and only added Flight Controllers if dedicating themselves to anti-squadron efforts. Really, all you need to support squadrons are squadrons to support.
furthermore, the new Tractor beams are probably going to give the VSD-1 more viability as a tough brawler sorta ship, since everyone will be as slow as it is once you get multiple procs going
as for the ISD-2, apart from the awesome defensive slot, the 8 dice at medium range stack amazing well with gunnery team and can really blow apart fleets made up of smaller ships. It is, imo, a far more significant upgrade than taking the VSD-1 to 2 simply because of how it basically one-shots smaller ships with that many dice (esp with offensive tech ala Avenger or X-17s, or squadron support) and has the nav chart to abuse
Edited by ficklegreendiceA Victory I with Assault proton Torpedoes and Tractor Beams go for one point cheaper than a VSD II. It has some board control as it can slow down those pesky rebels ships and force them to stay in range (especially when deployed en masse) and has a really fearsome close range punch. And all it loses is an inch and a half of range (which seldom is a problem if you dedicate your victory to go for the throat) and get fewer accuracies.
Unless you're trying to do something with Ion cannons (of which there are few really good ones IMO) you're better off with a VSD I.
