Lately on the question section of the boards I'm seeing a lot of "experienced player said he can do this ____. Is the correct?" type of threads.
I'm Glad to see new players come to the boards for clarification.
I just posted what I'm probably going to say here in a thread there but figured many new players won't see it.
One example is a experience player told a newer player that with predator he could reroll two dice if the ps difference between the two ships was two
So Vader could reroll two dice against chewy for example.
My message to new players is if you feel something isn't right, just nicely ask where does it state this in the rules.
Be nice and just say you'd like to see it for your own clarification and better understanding of the rules.
As a newer player some will think this guy has played much more than me, but that doesn't mean he's right.
Another example is I know a guy who started playing.
He is the kind if guy who reads everything at once then gets mixed up but think he's right.
He started teaching new players and told them they couldn't use a turret with Han because they didn't have it equipped. He was getting dash with outrider mixed up.
Newer player didn't question him, lost bad and actually considered not playing anymore. After his second or third game.
Not good for the game.
I'm glad to see new players make use of these boards to find out the correct ruling.

Now if you politely ask a player to show you the rules. He can't find it, then suggest politely to try the other way.
Having a faq on your phone is very convenient, so if you can download the newest version all the better.
And as many others will say.
"Do ad the card suggests, not what it doesn't"
If the players isn't understanding, then maybe you just found someone that may not be all that fun to play against.
Sadly the people that come here is probably a small fraction of the players, so there are probably a lot being taught the wrong way on some things, but again glad to see so many as of late take enough interest in the game to come here and see if their gut feeling was correct
