Rebel Transport Mission H2 : Blockade Run Question

By JediSmurf, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi everyone, 1st post here and quite new to the X-Wing Game so please be gentle :)

I've just brought the Rebel Transport GR-75 and i'm planning to play the missions out soon, however i was hoping someone could confirm a couple of things for me ..

In the Crossfire section of the rules (http://xwing-miniatures.wikia.com/wiki/Mission_H2:_Blockade_Run)%C2'> states "each ship at Range 1-2 of a turbolaser token and inside its firing arc rolls 3 attack dice and suffers 1 damage for each hit result"

1) Do Critical hits count as hits and if so do they deal Critical damage (face up card)

2) Does the ship get to defend these hits using its agility / green dice ?

3) Do Friendly ships also get hit ?

4) Same Questions regarding the Ion Blasts :)

I did tried looking for this but couldn't find it so apologies if its been covered elsewhere

Thanks in advance

Disclaimer: I don't have this ship, so I'm totally going by the quote you posted for these answers, so if you changed the wording at all, some of these might not be accurate.

1) [kaboom] (critical) results are not the same as [boom] (hit) results, and if a card (like Cluster Mines) or rule (like Debris Clouds) says it does something on one but doesn't mention the other, it doesn't trigger on the other. So in this case, the turbolaser tokens cannot deal face-up damage cards, and [kaboom] results don't do anything.

2) An effect written as "roll some dice and suffer some amount of damage" is not an attack, and so does not trigger any of the normal parts of the attack sequence (like defending with green dice), unless it specifically says it does. So in this example, no, the turbolaser tokens don't allow green dice rolls for defense.

3) If an effect is meant only to apply to enemy ships (or only friendly ships) it'll say so. "Each ship" means just that: each ship, regardless of friend-or-foe status. In this case, the turbolaser tokens trigger damage on every ship regardless of faction.

4) Ion Blasts: I'd have to look at the scenario, but hopefully these answers will give you enough information to interpret the Ion Blast rules.

Thanks for the reply,

your comments make sense.. kinda feels like the turbo lasers and Ion blast will be a little over powered but hey, i guess i'll see once i've played it

Thanks Again
