400 Point Gladiator/Raider Build

By Captain_Arrr, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I am debating if I want to get a Second Gladiator for this build so any and all thoughts appreciated!

Still working on the objectives to use.

Opening salvo, Intel sweep or Dangerous Territory, hyperspace assault would be what I would use.

I would consider downgrading to Glad 1s. More Black dice to process APT. Then add ordinance experts to the Raiders. Makes the Raider AS almost a guaranteed 2 hits.

I would also consider downgrading to Gladiator-Is. The extra black dice are quite competitive. The main allure for me of Glad-2s is the extra anti-squadron dice but until it's proven that in your meta squadrons are a big deal AND you want your ships shooting at them (instead of just packing more TIE Fighters or whatever), I'd stick with Gladiator-Is.

I also think Ozzel is going to be a fun choice with Raiders and Glads, but with all those Assault Proton Torpedoes I would strongly recommend upgrading to Screed to reliably proc those crits on all those Raiders.

These are all great ideas. I forgot about Screed. He might actually be a better choice, as well as downgrading the Glads to 1s. However if I have Screed do I really need the Ord. Experts? And I am thinking about throwing in some ACMs if I can.

Keep in mind that Screed is only once per activation. If you can use your reroll on your sweet shot (Gladiator broadside, Raider front arc) and get a crit naturally you can then use Screed on your secondary shot (Gladiator front arc, Raider broadsides), which is unlikely to reliably crit even with a reroll, thus triggering two crits per turn.

I wouldn't absolutely wreck your list finding points for Ordnance Experts on every single ship to achieve this, but they're definitely worth including when possible.

So here it is with some changes.

I feel like you should either go all ACMs or all APTs, if possible. They each get better the more of them you are using (chiselling through shields for crits or just overwhelming shields with lots of damage), and they don't really combine well as one of them overloads shields and the other ignores shields for its crit effect.

It would also give you a 7 pt init bid, which could be huge in this build since it really wants to go first.
