Omega Squadron- Rise of the First Order

By Rakaydos, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Been playing this list over vassal- both times I went up against imperial aces, both times vader bit it early and Soont went to time.

While light on hitpoints, they are ridiculusly hard to hurt- while light on red dice, they get crackshot-lite on every attack. They can bump and sloop without worrying about their actions if they've got an evade banked, and Epsilon leader lets them chain sloops and ignore debris.

4 greens can hold of a lot of firepower, and the evade can catch leakers, then be replenished next turn

Against aces, every ship is a blocker, and Epsilon leader's ability allws a tight furbal with repeated slooping. Vs lower PS, the evade token allows juke before it might need to be expended saving the stealth device.

That's 104 points is it not? So I assume you're actually running Epsilon Squadron Pilots, instead of Omega Squadron? But then they can't run Juke...

Somehow I read the first ship as Omega Leader - maybe it's because you were discussing it in another thread?

I tried to shoehorn omega leader nto this list, dropping an omega to epsilon. I was promptly bent over by the PS difference- tthe miniswarm maneuvers too tightly that without the flexibity to get out of each others way they limit their own options.

Also Omega Leader only works on a single target at a time, that is TL, so he has issues with PS9+ ace packs
