Red spears in Heroes scenario

By GentlemanSavage, in Battlelore

I just played Season of the Witch from the heroes expansion and it requires the Hundred Years' War expansion. Luckily, I have it. However, it shows three units of red banner spears in the deployment, and all I have are blue banner spears.

Is this a misprint, or should I have red banner spears somewhere?

I have one on each expantion and I can`t recall any red spear units. Not human at least. I would interprit this as a misprint.

But then again, I could be wrong. Hope it helps though.

It is a misprint indeed. The red spear banners belong to the Goblin Skirmishers expansion. Further more, there are only two red spear units and the scenario needs three of 'em. lengua.gif

A few notes on the Heroes adventures!

Adventure #57 Season of the Witch - Players will indeed need the Hundred Years War, Scottish Wars and Goblin Skirmishers expansions when deploying units for this adventure.

The Standard camp fields two units of Arbalestiers (crossbowmen). In addition the two Standard red banner spearmen unit figures are also from the Hundred Years War expansion, but you will need to get the red Standard spearmen banners from the Goblin Skirmishers expansion for these two units.

The Pennant camp fields one unit of mounted knights from the Scottish Wars expansion. Also note, the Pennant spearmen red banner unit should actually be a unit of Halberdier figures with a red Halberd banner from the Hundred Years War expansion.

Adventure #58 Grave Adventure - Players will indeed need the Hundred Years War and Scottish Wars expansions when deploying units for this adventure.

The Standard camp has one unit of mounted knights from the Scottish Wars.

The Pennant camp also has one unit of mounted knights from the Scottish Wars and one unit of Arbalestiers (crossbowmen) from the Hundred Years War expansion.

Because both Adventures #57 and #58 can provide a young Hero with a rather difficult challenge, may we suggest players first try adventures 59 - 62 to give your Hero the opportunity to gain some experience before taking on the riggers of these two advanced adventures.

If you do not have some of the expansions, the following unit substitutions could be made and will still provide players with a challenging adventure. All of these substitution units can be found in the core game.

Adventure #57 "Season of the Witch" -

The Standard camp instead of two units of Arbalestiers (crossbowmen) should field two units of green banner archers. Instead of two units of red banner spearmen field two red banner human heavy infantry units.

The Pennant camp instead of one unit of mounted knights should field one unit of red banner heavy cavalry and instead of one unit of red banner spearmen (actually Halberdiers) could field one unit of red banner hobgoblin swordsman.

Adventure #58 "Grave Adventure" -

The Standard camp instead of one unit of mounted knights should field one unit of human red banner heavy infantry.

The Pennant camp instead of one unit of mounted knights should field one unit of human red banner heavy infantry and instead of one unit of Arbalestiers (crossbowmen) should field one unit of green banner archers.

Enjoy!
