Tie Fighter (Imperial blue color - Star Wars Colors)

By solamnic, in X-Wing

Checking today my collection i found out that all my Tie's (which are bought as part of the Core set and the Tie fighter expansion) are white.

FF's Tie Interceptor, Defender, Punisher etc are painted with the regular Imperial Blue color.

Tie Advanced was painted white in the Expansion while it was painted imperial blue in the Imperial Raider expansion.

My question is this,

is there a Tie fighter available from FF that is painted with the imperial blue color?

Thank you for your time.

It will come in the Gozanti

Ah....

thank you for the feedback :)

...!

speaking of:

do we have color codes or something to match our self-painted minis?

was cutting up redesigning a K-wing these days and now that it looks -less- ugly IMO (personal taste, YMMV), I find it hard to match the original colors.

same goes for some tie-fighters I want to repaint (very early ones, factory-paintjob on those isn't very good).

Now I just need them to make a FO TIE in Imperial Blue...

They should all be purple like Mr. Lucas Sir wanted.

It's not that bad, actually.

Well purple worked for Praetorians and no one thought those were hilarious.

A long time ago on this forum, so embody posted pictures of some TIEs that were done in a really strong, deep purple, not the grayish purple, and it looked GREAT. (Not Niinivaara's "purple group", which also looks great.

I want to paint my k SAC bomber grey with A SAC sash as well

Pictures of the k-wing or it didn't happen. Been thinking of how to de-uglify mine. I already removed the bottom turret.

What, you aren't requesting all red TIEs across the board?

And when i say red I really mean pink.

It's a shame I have to buy two HUGE ships to get the complete color coordinated TIE, OT edition.

Not when the huge ship is the gozanti, which I am intending to buy 3 of regardless of the TIEs.

It's a good thing that when the Japanese created Gundam after being 'inspire' by Star Wars they chose bold primary floors for the good guys and muted greens and other secondary colors for the bad guys. And Pink for Char's mobile suits. Because when you got a scary-cool bad guy he has to drive a giant pink robot.

3, really? Why, if I may ask.

I just wish they'd standardise the colour. Either grey or blue, I don't care which, but it would have been nice if they made them all the one colour. I think I've got three different shades of colours in my TIEs. And for someone who's been wargaming for decades, I prefer a uniformity to my combatants.

The gray TIEs go with the gray Advanced because that's how they looked in ANH. The Blue TIEs are of course from the later movies with the bombers and interceptors. All the other TIEs follows suit. The blue advanced is not canon, but follows the later color scheme. I'm sorry it's not all uniform. It bothers me too.

But that's just the thing. My Fighters are actually a different shade from my Advanced. Even my Interceptors are different shades from each other. I don't know how many different factories are involved in production of the models, but clearly paint is coming from different suppliers for each batch. If I could be bothered repainting them, they'd all be uniform.

Take it up with the movies for not being able to pick a color.

Lots of folks have said their minis are lacking in quality control, but I haven't noticed. All my TIEs seem to be the same blue, at the ones that are blue.

No, it's not the movies as much. It's FFGs production factories that are producing the variances.
