I've never been to Worlds, but am going this year. I'm curious about what all occurs.

I know that the X-wing world championship is Wednesday (and will be ALL of Wednesday - 8 rounds!). The top 16 is Thursday (I'm not too worried that this would involve me). Team Epic is Friday (not really interested, unfortunately). Wrap Up tournament is Sunday (yay!).

Is there any other X-Wing that will be "officially" played? Do they run pick up tournaments in the side event area or anything like that?

Is there any X-Wing that is "unofficially" played? Do people sit around and play in the side event area?

Just trying to plan my week a bit, and could use input from past attendees or people who know more than me about what is up. Thanks!

The side events are the only other actual events for X-Wing. As for pickup games, good luck finding space. The Game Center will not be open for regular gaming at all during Worlds, and all table space is reserved for scheduled events. Your best bet will be to get some games going in a hotel or something.
