Casual fun Scum

By martini74, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Not sure what my intent with this list is. It might be to use ships in the S&V that never see the light of day. I'm not expecting a whole lot of greatness, but, I will play test this the next few days and see what happens. Without further ado, here it is.

Palob Godalhi: Predator, TLT, Shield upgrade, Greedo

Tansarii point vet: Opprtunist, stealth device, heavy scyk, HLC x2

A nice even 100 points. I know I will have issues against PS 6 or better. However, with the current meta in my area being BBBBZ or TLT Y-wings x4, it might do alright.

Feel free to make comments.\

My first thought is that you only have 12 damage in your whole team. Without unbelievable defense modifiers, that would go up faster than a snowflake in an ion thruster. Secondly, most of your damage is hull, so having Greedo would be worse for you than the other guy. Use the outlaw tech instead as most of the hwk's moves are red. Basically too many points on stuff that won't last. What if you just put Flechette Cannons on the Stycks and start handing out stress left and right?

I really prefer 4 ships in a build. Gives a 3 ship squad and a flanker or a tail-end-Charlie. Like ShrapnelBait said you need more HP. Tonight I flew N'Dru with cluster missles, SD and Opportunist with 3 naked Khirazx. Went against a rebel 3 ship build. That 4th ship makes a big difference.

I'm not a big fan of Greedo. Dealing face up damage cards to yourself is counterintuitive. While I like the M3-A adding 9 points to each for the cannon and an additional 3 for the SD is too much. I believe a hull upgrade is better for the same cost. Or a shield for +1 point. Use them as pests or blockers. Those extra 24 points can get you 2 scum Z-95s.

Paul Heaver wrote a nice article on how to build a list. It's a worth while read. Look at the Interceptor builds. They are squishy but high PS coupled with a lot of post-maneuver positioning and a lot of defensive ability gives them some staying power if flown well.
