400 Point Imperial Squad with 3 Victories.

By Lord Dragon, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I would love some input on this squad that I have been working on.

Screed - 26pts

3 Victories - 1 with Tractor Beams and ACM = 86 x 3 = 258

1 gladiator - Insidious and ACM = 66

4 Tie Interceptors = 44

Total 396

Figured Tractor Beams would be fun to play with and has the ability to slow down those fast ships so they can't get around me at all. and if I run them together it could work like a mini blockade where other ships could not get around me. as that is my fear with slower ships

also I am still new to the game and could use some help picking objectives.

Things you will hear:

Demolisher is the Gladiator title of Choice... The ability to Shoot after moving is almost game-breaking in its usefullness... Insidious requires a lot more finesse to use, only coming into play after you have encircled your enemy.

Victories are Star Destroyers . Star Destroyers want the Advanced Gunnery Objective as Second player. Choose it. You will regrettably almost never actually get to play it , but take it.

Star Destroyer Walls move slowly, and get a lot of mileage out of either the Contested Outpost objective (put it nearish your zone and milk the points for 4-5 turns), or the Fire Lanes objective, as they have some fantastic battery armaments that can overlap.

Blue objectives usually suck for you... However, if you run as above, Superior Positions could be useful... Its up to you to aggressively use the Gladiator to get your points, and to fly the Victories in such a way that the enemy can't get behind you.

Counter points.

To the above if you're playing with wave 2 stuff:

Don't give the MC80 a free gunnery team. It will burn.

That being said, if your victories make it close, it will die quickly.

Dangerous territory is amazing for letting victories ignore terrain if they are second.

Other than that, I like it!

Interceptors are much better with howlrunner. I suggest dropping the 4 ints and use your extra 4 points to take 6 tie fighters. I'd be interested to know how the tractor beams work out, i was thinking of using them too.
