Premier Event Round Timing

By hecabomb, in X-Wing

Hi guys, going through the FAQ on the 75 minute round timing and I'm getting a little confused.

Does this include set up (asteroids, ships, smack talk) or is it only when the first turn is called?

Shameless plug:

There's a Malaysian Nationals going on this weekend!

Thanks guys

Generally, players are given 10-15 minutes between rounds to find their next table, move their stuff, and set up for the next match. The TO will then call for the round to start - if you haven't finished setting up, then you will lose some time. In my experience, this basically never happens, as the "10-15 minutes" is usually extended due to people going to time in the previous round, late match slip arrivals, and other delays to scoring.

Would this 10-15 minutes be part of the official 75 minutes as stipulated in the tournament guide? Or is it separate from 75 minutes actual play time?

Imagine 75 minutes play time for 5 round Swiss, I'll be knackered by the end of it! :(

Here's how our 75min Filipino Nationals went:

8:00 am – 9:30 am Registration
10:00 am – 11:15 am Round 1
11:30 am – 12:45 pm Round 2
12:45 pm – 1:15 pm Lunch
1:30 pm – 2:45 pm Round 3
3:00 pm – 4:15 pm Round 4
4:30 pm – 5:45 pm Round 5
6:30 pm – 7:45 pm Top 8
8:00 pm – 9:15 pm Top 4
9:30 pm – 12:00 am Final

Pretty much went all to plan. Given the new MOV resulted in generally quicker games. There were 15min breaks inbetween that included the pairings announcements as well so give or take 5mins, most folks had asteroids and some even had opening dials ready for flipping once the clock started.

Good luck and post lots of pics :)
