Concussive vs. Vehicles?

By Ghostofman, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I was looking at the sonic rifle and got to thinking, does concussive work against vehicles?

Would you allow this?

What about enclosed and/or armored vehicles?

Offhand I wanted to say no since the result seems to be a character-only thing, but I recall the powerharpoon on the T-47 has knockdown, which I assume is meant to work against vehicles (or at least walkers) so I got to second guessing myself....

Do vehicles perform Actions or the people using them?

So what you think? Maybe on open topped? Only with aim?

Do vehicles perform Actions or the people using them?

The people using them perform the actions and maneuver(s). If the pilot uses his action to do something with the ship, then uses a maneuver to get out of the cockpit, he does not have another action to use, but he could do an incidental (from what I understand) and then take strain to return to the cockpit with a second maneuver.

It's ok if you are targeting crew, it's of no use against a vehicle itself. Knockdown with the airspeeders is probably the only mechanical way to deal with what was on screen, which is hokey of course, but was fun to watch.

Sounds good, thanks.

Generally I don't think they are intended to work, but If you as the GM want it to work, maybe up the advantage cost to trigger it: A triumph or sufficient advantages (4-5+) might show that the pilot or the gunner (PC's choice) is affected, maybe though the observation slip, or a feedback or something along those lines.

In my personal imagination, using a sonic rifle against a heavily armored low-tech vehicle could be very effective if the armor acts as a gong-like amplifier, but that depends on dramatic tension/relevance and I don't know exactly how a sonic rifle works ^^.
