T-70 List

By jayfuture187, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Thinking about using this 3 T-70 list for an upcoming tourny and need some feedback and critique

Poe: BB8,PTL,Autothrusters & Weapons Guidance

Blue Ace: Autothrusters, R2 Astromech & Weapons Guidance

Blue Novice: Autothrusters & R2 Astromech

=99pts

This is my first tourny and want to have fun yet be competitive while flying a unique list!

Haven't seen any 3 T-70 lists played yet. To be honest I don't know any one who has 3 or the new core sets to do it.

I think this list will do well against Turrets, with Autothrusters and boost to get in to range.

p.s. i would give Poe R5-P9 not bb-8, Focus and keep the focus for shield regen and his talent

bb-8 would be great on Blue ace if he/she could take PTL

I wanted to try something that I hadn't seen before as I normaly take my tried and trusted Han x3 bandits or 3x Bwings to events! I will run the numbers on Poe with R5-P9 and see if it feels better then his action economy with BB8.

I've got two cores and borrowed a third T-70 :D

my finding is that, apart from BB-8 + PTL Poe, is that they're all horridly FRAIL and that's with dice modifications (one red vet with predator + thrusters, another with r3-a2 + wired + thrusters)

without dice mods, they're just free points walking

in all honesty, I really wouldn't waste time with 3 T-70s until the expac comes out. Targeting Astromech and Integrated Astromech may provide the kick the non-Poes need to not shatter on sight, but until then they really have nothing.

The only exception, is if your meta is nothing but TLTs. 2 Red Vets and Poe absolutely murder TLTs through a combination of PS 4+, thrusters, and boost.

I have no idea about my local areas meta beyond my local league mates of which 5 are attending this tourny one of whom is very fond of 4 adv lists after the Raider release. I was aiming for the T-70 to be an unknown quintity localy as to be hard to predict.

apart from Poe and how beautifully their dials handle, the unknown quality of the T-70 is "disappointment" :( (until the individual expac, anyway. Things will change radically afterwards)

they do, however, look absolutely amazing on the table

I'm set on taking them for the fun factor as well as shaking up my usual style of play which I feel has become predictable among my gaming friends! Any tips on flying them? Close together for cover? Blue and Novice with Poe out wide?

I love playing with Red Vets with Predator, Autothrusters, and R2 units. I'm not convinced that they are worth their points but I love putting them on the table. Unfortunately, this leaves you two points short of being able to run Poe, PTL, BB-8, and Autothrusters.

I really wish I could smack VI on it to make it fit but I think that his reliance on being able to take a focus action really limits the builds that are worthwhile on him. I'm looking forward to see what the other pilot from the T-70 expansion is able to do.

It might be worth switching Autothrusters out on the Red Vets for Integrated Astromech so that Poe will fit with all of his toys.

or just remove the r2 units, problem solved

lots of asteroids (note, not debris because it really screws BB-8 over)

and I mean big, chuncky buggers

practice flying through them, because T-70s will shatter on a straight encounter against anything with more than 2-ships and BB-8 Poe + blue ace can navigate them with ease.

Even on the generics, Boost + dat dial really come into their own when flying around obstacles

That would do it but I really like the r2s for ditching stress from K-Turns and T-Rolls. I've found that when I'm running a pair of them, I've usually got one that has just pulled a red maneuver.
