Local forces skirmished today and the losses were heavy on both sides. Admiral Screed held his ground against the formidable forces of Admiral Iblis, who was forced to abandon ship under heavy concentrated fire. The Scout cruiser was able to escape the fight in tact to report on the event. As usual, the captains of the Gladiator destroyers were reckless, yet effective leading to their demise; A tactic that must be studied further.
Thanks to BobaMatt for the inspiration for the fleet build... he suffered heavy losses with his MC30 yesterday and I was determined to try a build to support it more effectively. And I wanted to test out the new setup in the basement. It's not finished, but damnit, I don't have to worry about putting stuff away 90% of the time down there.

Imperials given initiative, playing Dangerous Territory (random draw objective)
Starting positions:

Not much to see here.
End of Turn 1:

That AF is about to get clobbered... and the GSG is on a drunken rage to inflict damage. The A-Wings hope to tie up the TIE's, but one squadron sneaks away to intercept the Y Wings!
End of Turn 2:

The GSD couldn't avoid the asteroid. The Empire needs to check the BAC of their pilots in this sector. The A Wings dispatch a squadron of Interceptors. Next turn, the shrimp unleashes hell on the other GSD... but that AF is sustaining heavy fire as well.
Closeup of the Fighters:

Howlrunner survives while Tycho takes a beating.
End of Turn 3:

The GSD lost the battle with the asteroids and a Collision. The Y Wings were successful is taking on the TIEs, however Tyco lost his battle with Howlrunner. The AF is signaling to abandon ship while the Corvette took a serious dice roll to the nose.
Close up of the battle:

The GSD had to come to a complete stop to avoid the collision. She was already in critical condition and would not survive another round.
End of Turn 4:

Before leaving this world, the Gladiator finished both the Rebel Flagship and the Corvette with excellent rolls triggering ACMs. With her last salvo, she ordered all hands to abandon ship. The last squadron of A-Wings was lost to the opposing Interceptors. This was now a footrace with the Imperial flagship and the Scout Cruiser.
End of Turn 5:

Hoping to get shots off on both sides, the gunners on both ships were trying hard, but failed to deliver. Too much protection, too little time to beat the defenses.
End of Turn 6:

Deciding that leaving the scene was better than a fight with the Imperial Flagship, the MC30 got a double arc shot off, unfortunately just out of close range of the side guns, then poured on the speed to collect one last objective token. How close was it? Oh, and the lonely Y Wing Squadron beat the snot out of some Interceptors. These pilots under Commander Vander have all earned promotions.
How Close?:

That close...
End score was Imperial Victory by 19 points. Sorry, I could total the exacts, but I have misplaced the record I had. Imperials had 2 tokens, Rebels had 3.
