R7 astro mach

By shotbyscott, in X-Wing Rules Questions

HI

"Once per round when defending, if you have a target lock on the attacker, you may spend the target lock to choose any or all attack dice. The attacker must reroll the chosen dice."

I have a few questions about this astromach..... Here is the scenario

Y wing with R7 has a target lock on Deci that has a target lock on the Y wing.

The way I understand it is

  • Defender dice modification takes place before attacker dice modification
  • Dice can only be re rolled once

So the Deci attacks gets 2 hits one blank. I make him re roll the 2 hits het gets a hit and a focus. As I understand it he can now only re roll the blank with his target lock. Is that correct? or can he re roll the focus and the blank?

Thanks

You can only reroll any die once, so once the defender forces any rerolls, the attacker can't reroll those dice. He can still modify with an ability or token.

but i have to do it before he modifies any dice don't i

Correct.

but i have to do it before he modifies any dice don't i

Defender modifys attack dice first, attacker modifys defence dice first. Or "he who roleth the dice shall be last to modify them"... as the saying goes back in the 16th century.

I didn't know they played X-wing back then... well, there you go. You learn something every day, don't you? I suppose it was called X-Wingeth back then. ;)
