So has anyone come up with some custom rules for a single player variant like how magic has those beat the hydra or minotaurs deck? Or maybe even go a step further and make a campaign map dungeons and dragons style with use of dice uztelizing the cards? Ideas anyone?
Solo play anyone?
Apparently, people had for first edition . I'm sure it would be very easy to adapt to second. I admit I've never understood the appeal, if I wanted to play a co-op/solo card game by FFG, I'd play the LOTR LCG - which I do!
I also heard about LOTR for solo but thanks for answering!
LOTR is my main game and it's fantastic, and really getting into AGOT 2.0 now. I might try my hand at some kind of solo scenario mode for AGOT at some point.
I've recently got this game and I love the thrones setting. My mates will only play this very very causally because we have sooo many other good games and we only play once per week. So my question is how good is the lord of the rings LCG solo play
I'm keeping this post here as it's relevant to thrones players looking for a solo experience
LOTR plays extremely well solo, and for those scenarios that don't quite scale properly (there are a few where the mechanics favour solo, some where they favour 4 players, and so on), many players will play 'two handed' (they'll use two decks).
If you're looking for a solo card game experience, with all the joy of deckbuilding, I can't recommend anything more highly than LOTR.
I'm seriously thinking about it. Just one core set needed?

Yes, although single Core is pretty constraining (inherently), the rest of the cardpool is more than suited to the task of completing it. There are 3 'scenarios' to play through in the core - a pretty 'fun' starting point is picking up the core box and the hobbit deluxe boxes. It gives you some solid decks to build, and 9 scenarios with a lot of diversity.
Just ordered the core set.thanks. I'm a huge fan
Boy of the novels including the early stuff and unfinished stories.
I've noticed card errata on the FAQ document... Does FFG update\fix card text with reprints?
There is a solo play thread on the rings forum and I also checked that out too. But thanks for the advice
You should get commission lol

Yup. The latest reprint will have the latest erratad text.
If only I've had decent AGoT 2.0 card templates, I would orchestrate some solo (and co-op) stuff!
