What is the Inquisitor's Name?

By Crabbok, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I'm referring to the 1st Inquisitor. We have two more coming in SW Rebels this season, and we already know that one of them is named "The Seventh Sister". I'm assuming the other one also has a name. We now know that "Inquisitor" is a title, not a name.

Looking back, I think it was really foolish to have the first inquisitor simply be named "Inquisitor". Imagine if the first police officer you ever met was named "Police Officer" - and every other cop had normal names like Jones, or Smith. You'd always go back to that first guy named "Police Officer" and wonder how silly his tombstone would look.

He was the boss of all the inquisitors. He was THE inquisitor.

I imagine for the first inquistor he never gave his name; after all why would he give away his name to someone that he would ultimately go on to kill?

It also fits the empire quite nicely; for if he was an ex-jedi then likely he would have any previous self identity drummed out of him, one way or another. As much as inquistors are proud killers they also lack very little in official power; the only influence the have is commandeering the empires services for hunting suspected Jedi and whatever purpose Vader/Palp would have given them. Otherwise I imagine their leashes would be quite tight.

(Hence why, at some point I wouldn't be too surprised to see Maul return. With his personally completely driven out of him with Sidious's sith magic for the sole purpose of having an efficient tool.)

Then why do the other 2 inquisitors have names? Just doesn't make sense. It's like they are taking the chewbacca defense on this one.

I believe Filoni confirmed that he was the High Inquisitor, sort the head Inquisitor. The other names are probably just ranks within the Inquisitors. I doubt you will see anyone other than the Inquisitors refer to those names.

His first name was The. It's an obscure name coming from ancient Corillian, which roughly translates into 'he who got their before anyone else but is killed in the end' An oddly prophetic name if you think about it.

He was The Grand Inquisitor. "The" was the callsign. "Grand" the rank, "Inquisitor" his Job description. His real name was "Bob", as Tarkin called him in private.

Yeah, but aren't their names "Fifth Brother" and "Seventh Sister"? I bet everyone's just going to call them "Inquisitor" too.

I always just called him "Inky" for short.

He was so Darkside he renounced all former names and took no other name but his title.

Maybe?

George. I like George.

Nice One Cubanboy!!!! Well played sir.

You as well VanorDM.

Hawkstrike, I don't think you can use that, there is a little prince in England with that name. I had heard it was Rusty Shackleford.
