Lore accurate, but in game terms next to useless.
Whoo, 2 defence dice when cloaked. two GREEN DICE!
That's... amazeballs.
2 points, max.
Only way to make it good is maybe give it some agi bonus to go with it. so increase AGI by one, then add cloak. (total of 4)
Edited by DariusAPBActually, it's 3 defence dice. 4 at range 3. The same as a TIE Interceptor.
Cloak adds 2 dice, it doesn't double your Agility.
Plus of course, the REAL benefit would be the Decloak on a Large-based ship. The Shuttle's dial is poor, but with that adjustment available it could be much more flexible.
Edited by FTS GeckoWell, it's not JUST the green dice. There's also the repositioning you get from decloaking. Which could be very useful for a ship as unwieldy as the Lambda.
Choose the stop maneuver, then decloak to basically fly straight sideways?
Edited by DarthEnderXGood point Gecko, I had forgotten that.
That's true, which actually could make a huge difference.
I wonder... Would a cloak(barrel roll) be treated as a regular barrel roll for a large ship, or as a prewave 5 large ship barrel roll?
Edited by DariusAPBI wonder... Would a cloak(barrel roll) be treated as a regular barrel roll for a large ship, or as a prewave 5 large ship barrel roll?
What's the difference?
Edit: Nm, looked it up. Didn't even know that's how large ships barrel rolled.
I would guess it SHOULD be the former, since the cloak isn't about actually barrel rolling. And the 2 straight and 1 straight have the same width, meaning it wouldn't really be working the way it's intended.
Edited by DarthEnderXPrior to wave 5, large ships barrel rolled just like small ships. After Wave 5, they barrel rolled like they do now, with the 1 template up against the base, not across... if that makes sense?
Either way... dat reposition...
Edited by DariusAPBEdit: Accidental post
Edited by DarthEnderXQuestion is, how much is a fully-functioning Cloak action (along with the 2-straight Decloak) worth on the large-based shuttle?
10 points?
More?
It would use the 2 straight template turned sideways. Which is actually worse than the 1 straight since you can't adjust forward or backward.
Surely they'd have to give it only a 1 straight (see the comment about alikening to the wave 5 barrel roll nerf).
if it's plus 2 not double... 10 points seems fair. Maybe 8.
Alternatively, Joostuh's solution makes sense, making it cloakable but not near as agile as a phantom, which makes sense because Glorious Alabaster Galactic Walrus.

But that's the thing, the cloaking device's repositioning has nothing to do with agility.
The reposition from the cloaking device represents you not being sure where a ship is exactly because your sensors can't detect it. You THINK it's over here, but when it decloaks, it was actually 2 spaces that way.
So there's no reason the slowness of the shuttle should make it not work as well.

RAW, yes, that's exactly how it would work under the current rules.
I like it pretty much.
Kagi should get this upgrade for free
Yeah by agility I meant literal agility, not the stat. So cloaking device, +2 to make it a 3 dodge shuttle.. tanky, decent.
barrel roll action using 2 template forward or to the side to represent you not being sure where it is... would still make it a 1 template for a large ship.
Thinking some more... dat 2 boost. Man it'd turn the Magnificent luminous Solar Whale in the most impressively maneuverable ship in the game.
Edited by DariusAPBGreat idea
I want this title to be happen!
Needs to be given a name, while the shuttle exists in lore and rumoured to have a cloaking device. It never was given a name.
Man, now I have the theme from the Bastard Executioner stuck in my head "I can live, without hearth, without love - but I do need a name".
Maybe just "Royal Guard Shuttle".
I started a post with this exact same thing a while back. From what I found there are four notable Lambda shuttles out there:
ST-321
"Tydirium"
"The Emperor's Shadow"
"Palpatine's Shuttle"
It would be nice to see the named pilots in tournaments.

Well, for Vader's Shuttle they just named the Title card after it's comm unit designation.
Imagine like Yorr could be in the middle of the furball, collecting stress tokens and nobody really would like to shoot at him ... then you could equip him with APL or the ion emitter because somebody is going to bump him.

Empire One
True, but the palpmobile didn't even get that. I feel that Emperor Palpatine needs to have something special for his Omnipotent Pearlescent Star Bison.

.... sounds white enough for me.
Let's be honest, regardless of what the card says, people will still call it the Palpmobile.
Or maybe the Sheevwagon...
Edited by DarthEnderXYeah it's always palpmobile.
For bonus points someone should call it the war rocket Ajax...
