What counts as hazard spaces..?

By YamiDragoon, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

So I've found a pair of Boots of Iron which state that my hero treats hazard spaces as normal spaces..

So.. do all special terrains count as hazards (including water, pits, the new ones from Bilehall and whatever) or only hazard/lava..?

I found in the Nerekhall rulebook, that hazard spaces have been introduced there and that they

have the same rules and stuff as lava and vice versa..

But that confuses me even more.. now what counts as hazard spaces for the boots, and what not? :D

Do I understand right, at the very least, that lava AND hazard do count as the same and have the same rulings according to the rules?

And does that mean, that it's even better than the "all special terrains count as water" stuff on familiars? :D

Nerekhall rulebook states that Lava spaces count as Hazard spaces for effects that mention Hazard spaces.

Thus, both lava and hazard spaces can be ignored by the boots of iron. Sadly, water and other special terrains are neither lava or hazard, so the boots do not work with those.

Also, the rule that all special terrain is treated as water does not apply to familiars that are treated as heroes like the Reanimate and Wolf. They will still damage from lava as normal.

Okay, thanks :D

So, walking through lava or hazard pits won't do any damage nor cost any additional movement points,

as I treat them as normal spaces, right? :)

For the character wearing the boots, yep!
