I'm wondering what background there is out there for Heavy Frigates, as I'm sure I've heard of them mentioned somewhere.

I believe the difference between the frigates would be that a Heavy Frigate will concentrate on Firepower and Armor, and a Light Frigate will concentrate on Speed and Stealth.

In several of the Gaunt's Ghosts novels, Gaunt travels in a "grand frigate".
