Dial Upgrade kit announced!

Wow that's the news we get? They look pretty cool and all but I'd kinda like some news about wave 8 despite the flood of articles from the core set and the new ships added to wave 8.

Exactly. No news of any note in several weeks and then an announcement for $10 dial upgrades. Sure, why not turn a $15 ship into a $25 ship? Did FFG just hire the Games Workshop marketing team?

It's an underwhelming announcement to be sure, but to be fair it's turning a $15 ship into a $18 ship, as they come three to a pack for your $10.

I dunno, it turns the $40 core set into $60 bucks, but Most Wanted is just 50.

Or buy them online for $6-7 very soon after release.

Or don't buy them at all. My advanced dial and some of my tie dials are looking a bit rough. Just sad that I'll need 3 packs for a proper swarm.

Hmm, I can see why some would want this, but it seems like a bother to have to assemble them with the proper ship graphic when you might just want to play any given squad at a time. Still, options!

I like them. i'm not sure if I $10 like them

especially with the huge wave 8 about to drop. YIKES that one is going to hurt.

It should be very easy to switch out dials. You won't need to purchase more then 2 packs of each (three for a full swarm). Don't use them if you don't want, but if they work how it looks like they dothis will save a lot of storage space.

Yep, should be able to move those "front" into a more permanent storage place, saving a ton of space.

For the id token, I'd guess there's a hole at the center of the recessed area, similar to the speed markers on Armada's click tool. In short, by removing the dial portion, I'm sure you can pop out the id token from the inside pretty easily. Depending on how snug they are, though, this may start to create wear on the id token.

This is not an upgrade. It is "pimp my dial". I'm out.

The rebel upgrade dial is completely OP and the lack of counters to it is going to break the meta again...

A pack of maneuver dials includes three dial ID tokens for every ship from the T-65 X-wing and TIE Fighter in the original X-Wing Core Set, up to the T-70 X-wing and TIE/fo fighter from Star Wars: The Force Awakensâ„¢ Core Set!

Does this include the huge ships?

Soon, every X-Wing expansion will include a dial ID token for you to use with your plastic maneuver dials if you so choose. These will begin with the Ghost Expansion Pack, the Mist Hunter Expansion Pack, the Punishing One Expansion Pack, and the Inquisitor’s TIE Expansion Pack.

That accounts for everything through Wave 8 and beyond except for the Gozanti-class Cruiser.
