Bit of a stupid question but one that I've been thinking about:

The description for an arms coffer describes it as "a long, protective case, meant to be worn over the back." So how many guns can you fit into one? Does it depend on the size of the weapon? Can a character in theory fit both his long arm and a pair of pistols, plus ammo for all three, in with room to spare or is it just a place to keep one choice gun nice and shiny?

I'd probably let an Explorer keep all their weaponry in one arms coffer. For one, the entry notes that it is "intended to protect the diverse wargear" of the carrier. So, yeah, if it ever were to come up, an Explorer (or an NPC) could probably stow their "rule of three" (i.e. tree guns, with three reloads and three grenades of three types) equipment in one arms coffer.

Arms Coffer (page 143):
The Arms Coffer can hold one of the following combinations of weapons:
1. Two Basic class weapons or
2. Four Pistol class weapons or
3. One Basic class weapon and two Pistol class weapons
(One Basic class weapon takes up the same amount of space of two Pistol class weapons)

The arms coffer can also hold up to four Basic class weapon magazines or eight Pistol class weapon magazines or any combination thereof – one Basic class weapon magazine will take up the same amount of space as two Pistol class weapon magazines.
