Meet the Party: Knight Level Characters

By Cannibal Halfling, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

The Mad Adventurers Society's Meet the Party returns to Force and Destiny to present a ready-to-play group of characters, complete with backgrounds and relationships, for your use and inspiration! This time, however, the characters are built for Knight Level play, giving them lots more resources to work with.

Nuro Muvunc, a Twi’lek Makashi Duelist, is the group's finest swordsman, able to go toe-to-toe with other lightsaber wielders and an expert in one-on-one duels. He's also quite the dashing hero figure, able to charm his way through trouble when fighting would cause even more.

Bal Socor, a Nautolan Starfighter Ace, lets the Force guide his hands at the controls of a ship, making him a deadly gunner and a slippery target. Outside of the cockpit, he wears a Talisman of Iron Fists, making him a deadly and tough hand-to-hand combatant.

Zakay Koslar, a Zabrak Healer, is an expert at the healing arts whether she is using the Force or not. She also possesses the Bind power, and has a wide array of knowledge skills. Finally, she is a Light Side Paragon, swinging the Destiny Pool in the party's favor!

Cessa Sy, a Togruta Shadow/Shien Expert, brings a wide array of skills and talents to the table. She's killed with a lightsaber and a blaster rifle, capable of slicing computers and sleight of hand, knows her way around the streets, and is stealthy besides. Her use of the Misdirect power makes her an even trickier opponent.

Pass your Trials and ditch the Padawan braids, and Meet the Party: Force and Destiny Knight Level. As always, feedback, comments, suggestions, and questions are welcome! Thanks for reading, and May the Force Be With You (and your dice)!

I think a lot of GM's may think that Knight level play is to strong to start out. I think this game holds a lot of chances for even a knight level characters to become stronger, or experienced in areas they wanted the character to start out with but didn't have the experience to start them that way. I also think its a chance to really get to challenge players.

With more powerful characters I would throw in the difficulties of having weaker people around them, just because they are awesome and powerful doesn't mean they can keep everyone else alive. Also try to give them problems that cant just be solved by swinging a saber around.

Just food for thought

I'd definitely agree that Knight Level characters still have a lot of room to grow. The last time I played in an F&D one-shot the GM actually gave us 300 XP to start off with, and in our planned return to those characters for a sequel one-shot we're going to have even more XP. I certainly never felt like I didn't have something to spend it all on, and the challenges we were able to face (it was post KotOR 1, pre-KotOR 2) were suitably epic.

Force and Destiny characters are, by their nature, XP hungry. The flipside of that is that they seem like they can go longer without wondering 'what am I going to spend this XP on, anyway?'
