Hi there,
When making the two ship based attacks against the same hull target do you gather all attack dice for both hulls into one attack pool and resolve as one attack, or resolve as two attacks individually?
To me this becomes important when in terms of defence tokens.
if they are separate attacks my understanding is this...
Attack with first hull. roll dice for this hull. take note of hits
Defender declares which token he will use for this attack - brace for example.
Damage is halved and applied
Attacker gathers dice for second attack against same hull target.
Defender can now not use brace to half damage as he has already used it this turn.
If they are together the following would occur..
attacker declares he will attack with two hull locations against single hull target - gathers dice from both hulls and rolls as one pool
defender picks to use brace
Defender halves all incoming damage from both attacks.
Option 1 would seem to have the potential to cause more damage as you could restrict the use of tokens by making the defender have to decide which attack they want to focus on.
Option 2 could have the potential for statistically more accuracy dice which could be used to stop more tokens being used for the one attack.
