Scurrg is a good bet. Upsilon looks very big for standard play. The Resistance Transport is an outlier, and while I could see us getting Poe's X-Wing and the TIE/sf sooner rather than later, I can also see them coming independently rather than as part of an official wave.

Maybe around the time of Force Awakens DVD release?

Considering it is going to take another year before the next movie (and it might not be a continuation of the TFA story, might be like a Rebels movie) I'd say no more than 2 from TFA will be in wave 9 (1 1stOrder and 1 Resistance). There will probably be more Scum ships as well at least 2 because they are still behind and they don't have any sub-factions (unless a new faction set up is coming once the new trilogy is complete).

I would be very, very, very, very, very disappointed if that troop transport makes it into the game. It's painfully boring, and the fact that it is literally called a troop transport makes me feel like it has no place in a combat zone where it is seeking out conflict, which is the case with X-wing. The Lambda shuttle sorta made me feel this initially as well though, so I'm sure I'd get over it, but at least the Lambda is freaking awesome looking. That thing looks like my first cell phone.

I don't think it would be that out of place considering the Lambda shuttle made it but yes I understand there is no place in space for a platoon of storm troopers. For those that want to mention the first scene in Star Wars the ship was already disabled and taken into the cargo bay of the Star Destroyer where it was boarded. So the X-wing battle was already over.

Now could they appear in other games like Imperial Assault or would we get an X-wing scale ground combat game that is compatible with X-wing from FFG. Those are good questions but for the foreseeable future the answer is still no.

Now does it mean that those ships could not be in X-wing. Of course not, after all as far as we know the Resistance and 1st Order could all split into their own separate factions and they would need their Lambda Shuttle equivalent to remain a viable faction on its own.

So there's what are being called a V-Wing, C-Wing, and U-Wing (there's an alternate T-70 design there too).

I like all of those, and would be happy to see more unique Rebel ships.

Add in a scum/resistance Millenium Falcon reissue and the black leader (orange and black t-70) to the resistance troop transport and call it leaders of the resistance and I'll be happy.

Personally, I find all of those designs atrocious. I reckon the conversation went like this:

JJ: We need new fighter designs for Ep. 7. Ships that invoke the same feelings that the X, Y, B and A wing did.

Designer(s): Ok! That still gives us 22 letters in the alphabet to work with, we'll get right on it!

Seriously, they look very 'generic' sci-fi as opposed to Star Wars. Perfectly fine for say, a Wing Commander game, but definitely not Star Wars.

Should point out that my Wave 9 Prediction are not necessarily "wish list" ships. It's merely what seems like will come out based on what Disney is doing with the I.P. right now.

Not really looking forward to more post-Rebeillon era ships. Then again, it's what the Mouse wants.

Wouldn't be surprised if they tried filling in some gaps, like giving Imps a turret platform or giving Scum a decent arc dodger. One of the new expansions will probably come with an autothruster.

My only problem with those concept ships is that that would be the THIRD "V-Wing" we have in the lore.

Granted, one isn't canon anymore. But that's still 2.

That said, I think the Alpha-3 Nimbus should have been called an H-Wing anyway.

Red's the blasters, orange is the munitions. I figure that it's got a very <o> shape with its S-Foils closed, but they also double as munitions bays that can carry them in racks. What it lacks in firepower- if it even lacks, it makes up for in payload.

And considering that it's right after Y? Make it thick, make it heavy, give it a long fuselage and combine that with the nacelle, and make this bad boy the Y-Wing successor.

If course it wouldn't be so round but I am completely willing to design this fighter in depth.

I predict you'll see about 80 gunboat predictions from about 6 people.

Odanan - are we 100% sure the Shadow Caster is a Scurrg variant? I mean, it looks very similar, but according to the wiki it was based on Asajj Ventress' Banshee... admittedly, the wiki has very little info on either the Shadow Caster or the Banshee at the moment.

If it IS a Scurrg, that ship jumps right up the predictions list...

Here is my thoughts on a Millennium Falcon repack. Not sure what you'd call it though, just bang on the TFA label?

What would the Falcon repack come with? Certainly not any replacements or alternate versions. That would just be silly, I don't think I want a different Han. You'd need Rey and Finn for sure as pilots, then a couple generics, maybe even that junk dealer guy on Jakku for a ps5 no-EPT flavour pilot? What would his ability be? Once per round discard a stress token to regain 1 shield or something cheesy. And then what have you for crew? BB-8, Rey and Finn. Perfect, then you can fly almost everyone for a nice thematic approach, if you bought the old Falcon too that is... lol. But who hasn't thought about dual flapjacks? C'mon. Then a couple EPTs, maybe something based on that sweet move the new pilot and gunner pull off in the movie? Definitely a 1 point EPT for Rey called Quick Thinking, where you discard an upgrade card for some benefit. And then maybe even a modification that allows for the Falcon to take a tech slot. I think that would make a pretty good kit on it's own.

I would gladly buy another Falcon if it meant my old Falcon and pilots were still viable.
