Same. Regular X-Wing doesn't even bother dealing with 3-dimensional space. And it takes place in...you know...space.

There's no reason this layer of complexity needs to be added to the game to do ground combat.

I think we need to realize that while it would be very cool to have three dimensions physically modeled in the game it would slow the game down. Some players are okay with this, I myself don't have the time or willingness to look up tables of modifiers.

It would over and needlessly complicate things.

Indeed It would cause confusion and delay!
