Introducing Armada Warlords: database and fleet builder

Flag Bridge has been fixed, and should now work with all ships, and the Fleet Command is removed if you remove Flag Bridge.

Sorry for any inconvenience the Flag Bridge bug may have caused.

Thanks for all the effort man, it's awesome to have access to these upgrades!

How much of a demand is there for a Clone Wars update to Warlords?

The builder was never made to easily incorporate additional factions, so I have to manually go through all the code and update it. It will be a lot of trial and error. I'm guessing twenty hours, plus time needed to add all the new cards as they come out.

I've used mostly Kingston for the last couple of years (on the rare occasions I still play that is), but there is quite a few lists built on Warlords every single day, so I do think there are quite a few active users.

Warlords is the only builder I use, and in my opinion far superior to the others. I would greatly lament not having the ability to use it for Clone Wars factions.

I use Warlords exclusively. It's easy to use and figure out. My gaming group also uses Warlords. We have lists there and it's easy to share them or just go to their saved fleets page and see what's new.

That being said, nobody in my group has any plans on purchasing or playing with CW ships or upgrades. The only thing we might want to see is cards from the card upgrade pack if there's new cards in there.

I realize we're probably in the minority, but those are the facts.

Warlords is great! Thanks for a great product.

AFAIK the card pack contains no new cards, but I may be mistaken.

The CW stuff will without a doubt have some generic upgrades that are usable by Rebel/Empire ships.

Likewise.

All the other members of my local group use it as well.

Keep up the great work! This is a great resource, especially when I am teaching other people the game.

I use your Upgrade Database search functionality regularly, even when I'm actually fleet building elsewhere. It's easier to use, find exactly what I'm looking for; well laid out, easy to read.

An update on the website.

I've spoken with GK and I'm getting myself updated on the new stuff FFG is bringing to Armada and what is changing in the fleet building process and the structure of the upgrades. I am willing to update Warlords to the stuff but the work themselves will only start in a bit less than a month, because I'll leave for vacation in two days. I'll, anyway, use some time during the vacation to prepare some kind of "update battleplan" since it's in my thoughts to rebuild a big chunk of the builder; nothing too fancy graphics wise, but since 2015 FFG introduced some changes that nobody expected back then and I'd take this time of change as the one to stop and rebuild what was left a bit behind in these years. If you have particular gripes with the actual building process, please let me know, I'll take notes into consideration for the Clone Wars update.

Sincerely,

Nevetz

Warlords now has the following CW cards added:

Munitions Resupply

Reactive Gunnery

Warlords has been updated with all the stuff I could find on the Wiki (good work @Triangular )

There are also buttons to let you build republic and separatist fleets... but well, we're not quite where you can do that :D

This is a WIP, so could be some values are not 100% correct.

If you need any extra support on this feel free to get in touch with me, I'm pretty technical though mostly on the database side but happy to help pick up some parts of this as I'm sure I can at least provide an extra little bit of help.

I have no useful skills to actually help, apart from proof-reading and testing it by using it once you release stuff.

But I can say, "Woot! Thank you!".

Some Warlords news:

I have a beta build read that's fully compatible with the new Clone Wars factions. So now we just need for FFG to get the CW waves out there, so I can add in the new cards, ships, and squadrons :)

Ship and squad databases have been updated with what has been spoiled by FFG.

Same with upgrades database, where I've also added filters for the new factions and the next waves (I'm calling them 9 and 10).

I've made some tweaks/standardized the 3 different print formats (Text, Compact Print, and Extended Print):

  • Text export had some extra line breaks removed, so is more compact.
  • All print views now follow this template:
    • Fleet name
    • Username
    • Faction
    • Commander
    • Objectives
    • Points used/total points
    • Ships
      • Points for each ship
    • Squadrons
      • Total squadron points
  • Extended Print now lists the Squadron keywords for your squadrons (in addition to game text for uniques).

Nevetz's plans for some code changes have been postponed due to stuff, but it's definitely still in the pipeline.

I'm currently looking at scaling the images down a little bit, to make the GUI more compact. When I build my fleets, I often feel I'm doing too much scrolling. I'll test this in my beta build and release some images, then you can say if you like it or not.

Just a thought, with the new ship card layout it would be good to have some of the info from both sides of the ship cards in the list builder. So when selecting a ship to add there's also the points and available upgrades visible somewhere? As right now I keep finding myself adding both to my fleet to check the upgrades/points then deleting the one I don't want.

Even if it's just the "crossed over" front and back like the preview articles had

I can take a look.

Btw: the Ship database has both sides visible. And while building you'll get the correct price and slots once you pick a ship. But yeah, it's not ideal.

If I may add, I tried it and Radiant VII doesn't add the Fleet Support slot to the upgrade bar.

Good point. It should also removed ord and turbo slots.

@Rimsen quick fix to Radiant VII: you can add fleet support, but manually take care not to add ordnance/turbolaser.
