Will like be better as an Imperial Admiral, or Officer?

By Tranenturm, in Star Wars: Armada

If the Jedi are a myth, then Luke is probably in hiding.

And it's up to Han and the crew to find Luke. We'll probably find him sitting in front of that fire with R2-D2 for company. Luke's absence is telling but I doubt he's on the side of evil.

This seems to gel best with the trailer and the way the ROTJ seemed to end. Luke seemed very world weary. But he swore he would "never turn to the dark side", and he also threw away his lightsaber.

Seems possible that between Lukes reluctance to risk falling to the dark side himself, and the awkward situation he would find himself in being both the last of the jedi AND Vaders son, he decided to sit a few decades out. Given how hard the empire tried to stamp out any memory of the jedi I imagine the entire aspect of the force and the jedi/sith would have faded from collective knowledge, especially with the upheaval that continued.

And now with the force "awakening" he is going to be drawn back into it again....

So look at this movie poster:

http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2015/10/star-wars-the-force-awakens-poster-freakout/411172/

Who's missing? Luke.

We know he's in there somewhere.

Look at the new trailer. No Luke.

But the masked sith is holding Vader's helmet. Who is the ONLY person who has access to the helmet?

Luke.

So my only question for FFG (who is for some unknown reason NOT releasing info about wave 3) is are you making Luke an Imperial Admiral, officer, or fighter pilot?

We have a Luke pilot, and having an Imperial version seems weird to me. If an Admiral, then we only get a Luke/Vader pairing if Vader is out in a TIE Adv. Just doesn't seem right if we're alt. universing it. But if they make him an officer, then we can have a Vader Admiral and Luke ship commander which seems much better to me.

edit:

ARRRGGHHH. Auto correct change luke to like. Now I can't change the title. GRRRR

If we wanted Dark Side Luke Skywalker, FFG already has access to the original Dark Empire trilogy where Luke fell back to the Dark Side and served a reborn Palpatine clone. They wouldn't need to worry about what he might do in the new films. But that said, we know that Luke isn't a Dark Jedi because we see him give his lightsaber to Finn or Rey in the second trailer.

Could Luke fall to the Dark Side? It's possible, in the same way that the sun could possibly explode tomorrow and we all die. But they aren't going to do that in a way athat's in any way obvious from the trailers or advertising materials. If they had done that, Mark Hamill would not have even appeared in public for the last year to avoid any hint at all as to what might happen.

The question is what type of Imperial card the new Luke Skywalker is going to be in Armada. It's directly about Star Wars: Armada.

Jawohl, mein Erlkönig!

Whether it's written in some current Canon or not, the thought of Luke only taking Vader's suit back with him is absolutely ridiculous. Why the hell would he do something like that with the Death Star falling apart around him?

Except that Luke Skywalker isn't going to be an Imperial option. If they were going to do that, they'd have either done it already (see previous post) or done it with Lando Calrissean, who actually worked with the Empire (though against his will). Heck even Han Solo started his career as an Imperial Academy pilot (dropout).

This is movie speculation. And it's speculation that doesn't hold up under even vague scrutiny to boot. It's like asking if we'll get a Rebellion version of Anakin Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi based on their life during the Clone Wars.

Let me get this straight. You are speculating that Luke will fall to the dark side in Ep 7 and that an imperial officer version of him will be released? First, the speculation is off.

MINOR SPOILERS FROM FILM SYNOPSIS AND TOYS

According to the synopsis and descriptions on toy boxes, Luke is being hunted by Kylo Ren, and the two new main chars are looking for him, too. Luke has not turned to the dark side, but he is in hiding.

MINOR SPOILER DONE

As for the now "Legendary" EU (curse you, Disney! a pox on you!), Luke wasn't really an officer on the Eclipse or any other imperial ship.

I'd go with "He put the helmet upper half back on - so, when Vader's body started to fade, he didn't notice - at least at first"

Hence the full helmet being on the body when it's on the funeral pyre.

He was Supreme Commander - same as Vader.

Luke is totally in the trailers. You can see him putting his robot hand onto R2-D2, albeit from behind.

And? Armada cards still fall under the category of being about the Armada game. Of course I don't think Luke will be an Imperial card, that doesn't mean that speculation about it (however sparse) isn't still speculation about Armada.

And since you ignored or missed the last part, I'll say it again. This forum isn't very strict about only putting off-topic threads in the off-topic subforum.

But the masked sith is holding Vader's helmet. Who is the ONLY person who has access to the helmet?

Luke.

Based on what?

For all we know, he left Vader's body and armor behind at the funeral pyre on Endor, and literally anyone who can take on a teddy bear with a spear could have found it.

which does not include a legion of the emporer's best troops.

This is completely off Tarkin btw.

Auto correction strikes again ...

Off Topic

I just want to say a auto correct that changes Topic to Tarkin is awesome.

did the mask look burnt or decrepit in the trailer?

maybe the FO went back to Endor to retrieve it

in which case, the Mouse might have just had all of the ewoks slaughtered or subjugated...

(and there was much rejoicing)

Something is very right with his phone.

True and true.

What was this tarkin about again?

Luke in the footsteps of his father?

Can this even be?

Like:

"Stop!

Wait a minute ....

wait a minute ....

wait a minute ....

wait a minute ....

yep, dark side is cooler!"

Could he be the Master or his Master's pupil?

Is there an Emperor for the First Order?

Is he this guy?

If not he, who else?

Lets just just wait for the film.

But that said, we know that Luke isn't a Dark Jedi because we see him give his lightsaber to Finn or Rey in the second trailer.

I think that's Anakin's blade.... the same saber that got lost on Bespin with Luke's hand. Luke's RoTJ lightsaber is green, and the hilt is different.

Also for all we know, Finn could be handing it back to Leia after the fight.
