Will like be better as an Imperial Admiral, or Officer?

By Tranenturm, in Star Wars: Armada

So look at this movie poster:

http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2015/10/star-wars-the-force-awakens-poster-freakout/411172/

Who's missing? Luke.

We know he's in there somewhere.

Look at the new trailer. No Luke.

But the masked sith is holding Vader's helmet. Who is the ONLY person who has access to the helmet?

Luke.

So my only question for FFG (who is for some unknown reason NOT releasing info about wave 3) is are you making Luke an Imperial Admiral, officer, or fighter pilot?

We have a Luke pilot, and having an Imperial version seems weird to me. If an Admiral, then we only get a Luke/Vader pairing if Vader is out in a TIE Adv. Just doesn't seem right if we're alt. universing it. But if they make him an officer, then we can have a Vader Admiral and Luke ship commander which seems much better to me.

edit:

ARRRGGHHH. Auto correct change luke to like. Now I can't change the title. GRRRR

Luke.

Based on what?

For all we know, he left Vader's body and armor behind at the funeral pyre on Endor, and literally anyone who can take on a teddy bear with a spear could have found it.

Making Luke evil just makes so much sense--we know Mark Hamill could do the joker really well on Batman=)

I thought one of the posters shows Hamil Luke all old and looking a lot like obi wan?

We know who's playing Ren, and it ain't Mark Hammil. Also, I believe Ren isn't even force sensitive, just a fanboy of Vader, from what I've heard from people who follow the spoilers.

If the Jedi are a myth, then Luke is probably in hiding.

And it's up to Han and the crew to find Luke. We'll probably find him sitting in front of that fire with R2-D2 for company. Luke's absence is telling but I doubt he's on the side of evil.

Luke took vaders helmet and face mask off before he left the Death Star which then exploded so how did anyone get it is my question.

I present to you, Exhibit A:

He puts it back on for the funeral pyre. You see smoke coming out of the mask as the body is cremated.

Too slow, man. You gotta keep up to be a forum ninja.

did the mask look burnt or decrepit in the trailer?

maybe the FO went back to Endor to retrieve it

in which case, the Mouse might have just had all of the ewoks slaughtered or subjugated...

(and there was much rejoicing)

And so begins what I expect will be the first of many theories about Luke's whereabouts.

Less than two months y'all. :D

Did the new book give us clues into what Luke has been up to since Endor?

From the speculation it seems like he's done a Yoda and withdrawn from galactic affairs. Maybe being Vader's son is not really a great badge on honor for him, and he doesn't get much credit for distracting the Emperor while the ground crew lowered the shield and Lando & Wedge took out the Death Star.

No poster but there is this image.

There's also the ubiquitous shot of R2 hanging out on some hellish lava world with a robed, kneeling man who reaches up to place his mechanical right hand on the droid's dome.

Almost certainly Luke.

On pilgrimage to Mustafar to see where Daddy Vader lost his own limbs?

Or using a DS presence to mask himself same as Yoda did with the cave.

Which, as we all know from RotJ, is an extremely exclusive company that excludes "an entire legion of [the Emperor's] best troops."

Nope, not a thing. We get some of Han, and some PR videos of Leia, but that's it. Luke is MIA in the books thus far.

Actually Vader's body never made it to the Sanctuary Moon, Luke hauled an empty suit out of the Death Star.

Otherwise you're exactly correct, in the Legends Kyp Durron traveled there and took up the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith at Vader's funeral pyre. Granted that's not canon anymore, but it demonstrates exactly what you just proposed.

You'll never convince me that this isn't in fact a picture of 60 year old Mark Hamill.

;)

Yup - one of the first newcanon reference works - Star Wars In 100 Scenes, confirms that this bit of lore, which originated in Legends material, was carried over to the newcanon Star Wars setting.

Of course the inference is easy to make (maintain) since he later appeared as a Force Ghost.

I'm glad it retained canon, though. I decided to omit the fact that (my source for) it was Legends.

This guy is from Castle Black.

This is completely off Tarkin btw.

Auto correction strikes again ...
