Rebel Ship Expansion

By Felswrath, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I was thinking between missions and and campaigns the commandos (heroes) have to go some where right. I think it would be nice to see a mini campaign (the concept wouldn't work with side missions) about the Heroes having to repel Imperial boarders from their ship (hopefully an Assault Frigate Mark 1!) You could have the first mission be something like prevent the Imperials from capturing a certain room for 6 rounds as they enter through the hangar. Then you could have other ones where you have to say recapture the bridge or escort others to escape pods. Etc. New Heroes could be a Spec Forces Commando and a Pilot. and villains could be Imperial Navy Troopers and Terror Troopers (although I doubt it).

Nice idea. I certainly want some Rebel ship interior tiles. Story-wise though, how would it work - if the Empire is boarding the ship then presumably that means they've thoroughly crippled the hyperdrive, how could the Rebels possibly get away?

Maybe you have the droids and mechanics to fix the hyperdrive- or maybe you're protecting the NPC mechanics while they get to it. It also doesn't have to be a full-on assault. Maybe the ship ran afoul of a customs patrol or perhaps it was supposed to be a stealthy insertion (The Imperials can't always be seen slaughtering civilians) Or the Rebel ship is just carrying such valuable cargo/ personnel/ information they dared not fire at it with ship-based weapons at all! The entire fight could be taking place while the ship is IN hyperspace!

Or it could have been ionized, or your mission could be to get to the escape pods.

OR your mission could be to achieve something (delete some files from various terminals, get a VIP to the last remaining escape pod, whatever) before your ships is overwhelmed, and then you're prisoners and have to play inside the Imperial ship. I like the idea of being on a smaller ship, like the CR90, and having map tiles representing its docking collar connecting to the inside of an ISD's hanger!

All great ideas, some better than what I had suggested. What I was thinking was like the Salvation level of Force Unleashed II.

Personally, I think tile 33B in the core game fits the job. Seriously, that side of the tile is used ONCE in the entire core game and expansions so far (haven't acquired Wave 3). It looks like smuggler ship's cockpit, and the concept fits very well with this idea.

I have the Han ally pack on order (hopefully it will arrive today), I had assumed that it is used in his new side mission which his article said is about repelling boarders from the Falcon. Is it not?

Anyone got a pic of the tile you're on about?

I'd love an IA scaled group of deckplans for ships in x-wing / armada.

Cripple that CR90, then board it with stormtroopers... ohyeah.
