Since it includes everything up to TFA core does that mean future releases will have them? I wonder?

Great question!

I think it will be more likely that they would include the ID token.

The previews for wave VIII show neither the plastic dial nor the ID token, however, so we've really got no indication.

Yeah, maybe they're adding in the ID tokens to each Wave 8 ship, which is why they haven't gone to the printers yet.

...damnit, you guys, I don't have all the SHIPS let alone stand and dial upgrades!!!

Finally!!! Something for X-Wing I have absolutely no desire to purchase. I thank you FFG. My wallet thanks you FFG.

Yeah, this ranks up there with the original star map tiles for me. No interest in this product at all, at least from what I can see now.

Looks like they got some inspiration from Armada.

But now I want to know what SWX43 through SWX48 are. Conspire away!

$10 each... pfff no thanks. Maybe for a kit of 4 dials... Maaaaybe.

3 each huh... hmmm...

Not for me. Despite a lot of play, my dials have no sign of wear and tear at all 2 years in, so I'm all good.

I've got some pretty janky dials by now (one Wave I Y-Wing in particular) so this actually seems like a great idea. They look like the Armada command dials which are pretty solid.

I can see getting 3-6 per faction just for tourney use.

I'm very glad this is purely cosmetic. I'd been a tiny bit afraid they were going to change some of the actual dials.

Maybe it's a step toward fixing a ship by giving it an extra or alternative dial?

See, I was actually really hoping that they would update the actual dials (though I never really thought they would). I wouldn't be quite so annoyed at the t-70 getting tallon rolls if all the old ships got updated with appropriate new manauvers as well.

Was never going to happen though. Far too much of a logistical and PR nightmare.

When these upgrades hit the play-mat, all the folks who say that they won't buy em, will end up buying at least one pack.

It's a lovely addiction.

Unless your playing the same ships all the time I don't think it would be to good for your dials to be pulling them apart several times over, I think these are intended as a permanent upgrade to a single dial, which is great but not at $10 for 3. $10 for 5 and I might have been interested

Got me excited there, thought they were changing the dials on some ships.

Nope. Plastic dial housings. Not something I need.

This, exactly.

It's actually a cool product, not gonna throw shade on anyone who wants these. But I have no interest in them.

I do kind of want to find a way to personalize my own dials a little more, though. I'm a tinkerer and I'm out of tinkering projects. I think brass/aluminum axles might be the ticket, or maybe casting up a bunch of icons to glue to the plastic dial centres.

Aw hell, I just realized these could be painted to match your ships/theme/whatever.

I'm probably going to crack.

I might get, like, 3 for my favorite ships.

but not at $10 for 3. $10 for 5 and I might have been interested

Keep in mind that these will be available from online discounters. If that is all the price difference you need then you might be able to get it from some places.

And this is a product I would not feel bad about not getting from the FLGS.

The cardboard ones look better.

I also have complete sets of every ship in the game besides for the HWK and T-70/TIE FO, this is in no way practical for me. Too much hassle to buy a handful just to end up continually swapping out dials, way too expensive to convert most/all my dials over.

They're not even glow in the dark. Absolutely despicable.
