I know they come out in the X-wing Y-70 pack, but when you read the fluff. The true integrated Astromechs are also in the E-wing, in fact they are the first ones that truly had them integrated.

Just wondering if anyone can give me any other fluff idea's or was it for game balance somehow?

Honestly, adding "or E-Wing" would be pretty sweet. No more sudden death by Direct Hit! However, I do have to say that I love FFG's ability and creativity to come up with new 'fixes' for everything that's needed help so far.

Yeah I don't think it'd fit very well on an E-Wing, anyway. PtL, Engine Upgrade and R2-D2 is almost standard on Corran, meaning your Modification slot is taken, and the generics / Etahn [unfortunately] don't see enough play to get any special lovin'.

That's... kind of the point of a 'fix'.

I'd argue generic E-Wings need something else to incentivize playing them. By the time you're adding Astromechs and Sensor Upgrades to the ship, you're already in the point range of an X-Wing ace... which is going to be using Integrated Astromech.

E-Wings need something to curtail their high initial cost without making Corran somehow more powerful or undercosted. The fact that you already have to spend points to make a 0-cost mod useable doesn't help the case for introducing them to an expensive ship.

I don't think IA would terribly affect Corran's strength but it does little in the way of making Generics / Etahn attractive.

Edit: Obi I'm on my phone so maybe I didn't flesh it out enough. I meant that IA clearly wasn't made to do the E-Wing any favors since the ability depends on having an Astromech equipped, and the only E-Wing doing that is Corran. Therefore something else will need to be done to fix the E-Wing. Sorry

Corran with IA could be potentially game breaking when he already has PTL focus + evade +r2-d2

Integrated Astromech probably isn't enough help for the E-wing, so they'd still need another fix anyway--and if there's already a partial fix in play, the designers' job will be harder if and when they get around to an E-wing fix.

Also, Y-wings don't need it.

Also, Star Wars feel-wise, the only time we see a droid being hit instead of the ship (and therefore the ship surviving) is R2-D2 in the trench run.

The Xwing has an exposed astromech that can be hit by laser fire.

The Ewing "solved" this "problem" by putting the astromech in it's own armored cockpit.

The Ewing will likely get a fix based on it's tendancy to have it's lasers short out, rather than it's astromech dying.

Nah, Integrated Astromech is when they miss the ship but blow your droid's head off. It's the "I've lost R2!" moment.

Which he's not always taking in the first place, so it wouldn't be too big an issue for him.

As fixes go, it's pretty neat.

Really, its single flaw is there aren't many 1pt Astromechs that synergise well with the X-wings stats and dial - R2 and R5 both buy you more on a Y-wing.

It'll only take one or two solid little droids to flip the X-wing into having tools at least as solid as a B-wing's barrel roll.

It never made sense to me that E-wings covered up their astromechs. There's sensors and tools all over the domes/cones on those guys, they need their head to be at the highest point of the ship to enhance targeting, give early threat warnings, make repairs within reach of their head utility arms, ect.

anyway, the X-wing does now have tools to equal the B-wing's versatility (just not at a base level, because even BB-8 won't beat a natural b-roll...he just goes crazy with PTL); they're just all on the named pilots
