So, I'm pretty sure UFS is dead in Wisconsin.

By TripsEX, in UFS General Discussion

For an entire month, there's been zero people showing up to play UFS, and everyone shows up for Magic or Naruto. I just registered for a Store Championship, and I think there's going to be maybe, 4 people who show up, and 3 of them will probably be from out of town. As much as rotation is helping other places, it pretty much wiped mine off the planet.

I am not even asking for help, because I don't get any when I do. Everything I have tried has done nothing. I haven't had a new player stick to the game in two months, I am losing players nonstop, and the most attendance I have seen recently has been 5 people (including me). I will run demos, drop off packs at stores, go to other stores to try and recruit, give out free product (that's out of my pocket), and go through the demo decks nonstop. There's nothing left for me to do, other than hand someone a piece of their own cardboard character and go "Here, you're champion."

Man, this ******* sucks.

Welcome to my world. I remember the days we use to have 12 man tournaments every week here. For the past two or so years it's been the same 4 people every single week. No new players, no one even saying "hey what's that", no one showed up for the free anniversary event or whatever it was, I haven't run a demo in years because no one cares. The new store we play at won't have pre-releases (although I almost can't blame them because there are so little of us left, but the first one we had at that store we had quite a few players show up and sold at least half the product the 1st day but then the store didn't want to do anymore pre-releases and they hardly buy any new product so that's what really killed it for the few people we did have that were on the fence about playing) I didn't even bother signing up for a store championship because IMO it's a waste of money (some card art printed on some computer paper and a a few promo cards woooo) which I was probably going to have to pay for if I wanted to run it. I think UFS has been long dead in WI.

That really sucks :(

Rotation took my store from 4 players to about 8 so it's been good to us but I guess there are other stores that willo be effected in other ways.

What really has killed a lot of recent interest is how long its taking the newest set to come out.

Our store has gained at least 5 or 6 players from rotation, then there are the ones that have come back because of rotation. Different circumstances in different places, if people aren't interested in the game (and moreso in their favorite characters only) then I can see where the game will die/drop-off no matter what you do.

I've been playing this game since set 8, and we only started with four of us playing. One of them left to go back to WoWTCG and the other one only shows up when he has nothing better to do or is out of weed and bored. Myself and KoreyMFH found two guys that mainly played legacy to start playing with us(Hi Cain). The problem we have is that our store doesn't get prize support like it should. mainly because they do not buy from FFG directly. They go through Alliance, and I'm not sure if they carry PS. The other problem is that our store is mainly a minatures based store, WarHammer and what-not. They are having a halloween customer appreciation night and Korey and I are suppose to go demo the game. at another one of their stores. I'm hoping this pulls some people in. I love this game, even more then the old DBZ TCG we used to play. I'd hate to see it go down in flames.

The only this I can really offer is the I think FFG should get more "IN TOUCH" with their player base. I know the Fight Night kits and Store Championships are great. But I remember when set one came out. I went to a store that was demoing and the boys from STG were there in person getting to know the players and showing off the game. With the way people seem to be dropping off like flies. I would personally want to know why as the person who is supplying the game. Get to know your players. The forums are great, but you never really get the feel of what the players want.

You mean the forums that they expressively told us, time after time after time after time that they do not read?

Also, FFG is not STG - that kind of thing will likely never happen again.

Trips is right I'm also in the wis and my playgroups growth has come to a screeching stop. Also another a thing to happen from quick rotation was that we lost this tight group of people in Green bay like Double D we still have like 8 guys who come in irregularly but the new format is great to bad these people stopped playing.

Like i'd said before, i actually kinda discouraged som people from coming due to quick rotate...

I definately looked at what we got in our Store Championship and I am disappointed. Also, it's really hard to get new people into the game when they want to play with a terribly small card pool and lackluster prizes. Why should they come to my store and play for cards they can't use when they can go up the street and play Naruto and Magic for stuff that they actually want?

This game's prize support is a disappointment.
