I'm sure that Mara Jade could be played by a relative unknown, she doesn't have to be a big name really. As long as she is athletic and can swing a lightsabre... Looking good in leather would be a plus.
Force Awakens trailer within 2 minutes
On second thought, Rachel Nichols (continuum) could work for Mara.
I thought it was a good, but not quite great trailer. "Probably" the best of the 3 they've had though. But not nearly as good as most if not all of the prequel trailers. Those were really well done and really got me excited to see the movies.
I think what hurts this trailer the most is lack of dialogue and plot.
The trailer is breaking all kinds of records as are the ticket sales.
You might not get excited by the trailer, the rest of the world is.
If this is hurting, how many angels must be giving you oral bliss before you are happy?
First time I've heard someone complain that a trailer spoils too little.
Yeah I don't get it. These trailers are doing what they are designed to do, get you pumped to see this movie. And so far these trailers seemed to be showing us a more genuine look at this movie than TPM trailers did. Go back and look at the episode one trailers and tell me they didn't play up the nostalgia just as much but actually showed much less. And there was no dialogue that i remember except 'Wipe them out, all of them'. So far I feel we have seen plenty in TFA trailers. The next two months are gonna feel like torture until I can sit in the theater and hear the Lucasfilm fanfare again.
All three prequel trailers (not teasers) had a ton of dialogue. So far the 3 TFA trailers combined have had one line of dialogue spoken that wasn't a voiceover.
And I never said I'm not excited for the movie, just not nearly as much as I was for the prequels.
The marketing for this movie has mostly aimed at one type of star wars fan which I don't fall into. If I was only an OT fan I'm sure I'd be in heaven right now. But as a saga fan I'm left a bit underwhelmed.

Ey bro don't speak for us all, I love all the movies too.
And I've never been this excited.

How is this movie not being marketed to 'saga fans'?
I guess I need to watch the trailer for TPM again. Maybe I can't remember the dialogue because it wasn't that memorable. I remsmber an awesome shot of a sleek silver spaceship in the desert, cool alien dudes riding bird-things coming out of the fog, a cloaked dude with a red lightsabre fighting another dude in the desert, some ships flying in space blowing some stuff up. I don't remember the plot being discussed or anything that would have told about the sequence of events or even who those people and creatures were supposed to be.
I just remember that the trailers got me hyped back then.

TPM Teaser
"You refer to the prophecy of the one who will bring balance to the force. You believe it's this boy?"
"He can see things before they happen."
"He can help you."
"The force is unusually strong in him."
"He was meant to help you."
"Anakin! Tell them to take off!"
"Will I ever see you again?"
"Are you sure about this? Trusting our fate to a boy we hardly know."
"Anakin Skywalker, meet Obi-Wan Kenobi."
"I sense much fear in you."
"The boy is dangerous. They all sense it, why can't you?"
"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger and anger leads to hate. Hate...leads to suffering."
"I've been hurt before. By a completely different team, director, and publisher. But I've been hurt before."
This was pointed out on the internet.

So would this be the Death Moon?
Starkiller Base.
it looks more like a massive Wall-E contemplating the meaning of life and the universe. An upward angle and light blue highlight does not a menacing weapon make
also the shadows make it look like it has eyelashes

Even planet sized super weapons deserve to feel pretty.
It's Unicron.

Nobody needs to point that thing out.
That, and it's Starkiller Base.
I'm wondering if they started digging into an icy planet until they made a ridiculously huge trench, or if they split the planet in half and placed the machinery and stuff inside like a creamy center of an Oreo. Either way that's 'terror-forming' on a crazy scale. And they still maintained an oxygen rich atmosphere!
Edited by GrimmyVDOnt think it has any atmosphere. Look around it, a haze would appear. Stars are clearly visible. It's either a base of some type (most likely) or a droid/ship of some kind.

It does have a blue haze, look in the gap between the hemispheres. Also we have seen the Stormtrooper Nazi-like parade showing that the ice planet has an atmosphere..if it's the same as the 'super weapon' planet.

I don't know how anybody missed that.

I don't think they made it.
I think they found it.
A nigh uninhabitable ice planet in the Unknown Regions. Turns out to be an ancient super weapon used millennia ago by the Sith and/or the Jedi in their galaxy-spanning wars against each other before the founding of the Old Republic. Capable of destroying stars and entire systems. Ultimately abandoned and forgotten by the Jedi once they believed the Sith extinct. And, perhaps, the basis for the design of the Death Stars and their superweapons - maybe Palpatine's intelligence network found schematics in a long abandoned Jedi temple.

Oh my god... I LOVE THAT IDEA!
That is an awesome idea, and makes sense that the First Order is only now making a move to conquer the Galaxy.
So of course it can't be the direction the movie is actually going to go.

Hope springs a turtle.

Now that's just not true! It could indeed go that way! Let me tell you why.
Allegedly, JJ looked at the "Knights of The Fallen Empire" trailer to see if its ideas ran into any of his. Now, isn't that kind of weird? Why would something that took place 3500 years ago actually effect anything these days..?
Unless he had a similar idea..!
What if The Starkiller is actually an ancient weapon of The Eternal Empire?
We have already seen, firsthand, the incredible structures The Eternal Empire can create.

Spires that span into the skies. They are technolgically more advanced than any other civilization in the galaxy.
So, what if they had a superweapon on some remote world?
What if that, was Starkiller Base?
