So which movie will we see Boba Fett? Episode 8?
I seriously hope they don't put BOTH Boba Fett AND Lando in Episode 8 - it'll feel TOO much like clone of 5.

Woot! Got my Alamo Drafthouse tickets!
Two question:
Did you go after one of the packages? ( I kinda want the glass)
Did you manage it through their site? It's sending me forward to fandango now.
What about those dog fights though?! I am extremely hyped for this movie!! The Force is meh, light sabers are kind of cool...
But spaceships! Shooting lasers and flying in circles!!
Aaaaaaah!!!!

I jumped on that glass. Sadly, couldn't get a Thur night show, so I am doing one on Fri at 9 am. Probably going to jump onto another 7 pm Thur showing.
New revelation after looking at IGN stills.
Rey may not be crying over a brown jacket shoulder, that looks like the shape of the bottom of Chewbacca's satchel.
Has everyone forgotten "Cumberbatch is NOT Kahn"
JJ is notorious for lying to us before the movie is out. Just wait till the movie.
And it kinda spits in the face of the original trilogy, if you think about it. Star Wars was renamed as Star Wars: A New Hope. Luke was that new hope. He helped his father bring balance to the Force.
Ah, no. The line about "bringing balance to the Force" was portrayed as being a good thing, but it was far from it in reality. Anakin and Palpatine brought balance to the Force in the prequels. By the time A New Hope rolls around, two Jedi (Obi Wan/Yoda), two Sith (Vader/Palpatine). Balance.
Vader kills Obi Wan, Luke takes his spot. Still two Jedi, two Sith. Balance.
Vader and Palpatine destroy each other in Episode VI; we're left with one Jedi, no Sith. That's not balance, is it? Unless of course Luke renounces the Force, gives up his role as a Jedi and goes into solitude, of course...
That's a wonderful fan-theory, but as I recall, George was very adamant that balance was restored at the end of VI. I'll need to find some sources, though.

That is not a jacket, that is a coat.
Belonging to a certain captain and his loveable crew.
Good thing this crossover will never happen because the universe would be destroyed in a quantum awesomeness overflow.
I got my tickets. Really excited for this movie. I hope there is more space stuff, most of the action seems to take place on different planets.

I feel fairly confident that the "bring balance to the force prophecy" has been done, and will not be a factor in the new trilogy.

None of them. He's dead.
Now his armor.... that's a different story.
Read Aftermath my young padawans. ![]()

Good thing JJ is not directing episode VIII. (Based on Star, Trek into Darkness) JJ Episode 8 would have Boba Fett pursuing Han to an underwater city where Boba Fett would be frozen in carbonite and Luke would get his left hand cut off by Uncle Owen.
I am your uncle, Luke...

Yeah I read it and it infers that he is alive, in two places.

Abrams didn't write Star, Trek Into Darkness. He just directed. So those terrible story elements, not sure if you can blame him for that. Maybe he did have input on the scrip, idk.
But Abrams is a fine director. In fact I think he'll do a great job with a Star Wars in that aspect. I am more concerned with the script. It all comes down to that. And it just so happens that he DID help write TFA. And I'm less confident in his writing, than his directing.
Edited by Jfitz1431Not to say Sith are retconned or anything, but in the OT they weren't mentioned and I love that!
Actually they did.
I remember my first New Hope viewing in 1990 or 1991, and there was 'Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith".
I got my tickets. Really excited for this movie. I hope there is more space stuff, most of the action seems to take place on different planets.

When it's about the size of Pluto?

That word is never spoken in the films, that's my point.

To be fair, George was also pretty adamant about including Jar-Jar Binks, so...

No, it does date back to the script and to the novelization of A New Hope. But in terms of 'was it ever said on screen in the original trilogy?', like Crabbok meant, no it never was.
First time it's said on screen in a Star Wars film is Phantom Menace.
As I said on my FB group
this Star Wars looks a lot more like Stars than that Star Trek looked like Star Trek

I've always maintained that Star Trek looked like it was trying to hard to be more like Star Wars and lost its identity on the way... so that makes sense to me.
