Goodness Where Luke?

Chills...

And wasn't that probably Luke with the mechanical hand hanging with R2?

Death Star weapon confirmed....... New trailer show massive fireball of destruction.

I have no interest in the characters. About the only thing I saw that looked interesting was the new xwings

Allow me to steal one line from a film to describe this one:

"Everything is awesome!!"

Seriously, every time I re-watch this thing I get more into it. It's not OT, but it doesn't feel watered down and pathetic like the PT. I have a good feeling about this one!

It's true; all of it.

My quick response is meh. It's really nothing to bite into, and I guess that's good. But a little something substantial would have been nice.

I also see JJ couldn't give up the lense flare.

Definitely will go see it midnight with my friends. And I'm excited. But my concerned thoughts still stand.

The hairs on my neck stood on end, or is the AC in the office working....

It's beautiful.

My hair stood on its ends

Hey, anyone compare this to the Episode 1 trailers? It's almost literally like night and day. The Episode 1 trailers are awkwardly cut, with more focus on talky and 'interesting' sequence shots. Episode 7 on the other hand gives us energy and direction... also giving Rey, Finn, and Kylo all character motivation statements to give us some idea of who these people are and what drives them.

I'm really looking forward to this. My birthday is on the preceding Sunday... it will be an awesome time to be a Star Wars fan.

Can't wait for the soundtrack.

My group of 8 have already snagged 8 tickets for the Director's Suite at the local Warren theater for Saturday, December 19th. :D Had to book the day after the premier to get that many seats in the Director's Suite.

Snagged 7 tickets for the 7:00 pm 3D show on the 17th!

No spoilers for me. How many times I see it after that... time will tell. I am still more excited for Rogue One, but thats like saying I prefer the 12 year old single malt to the 10 year old.

Anyone else watch her face a :29 and think of Mark Hamill's voice saying "This one... a long time I have watched. All her life she has looked away: to the future, to the horizon." She's Luke's kid. I've no doubt of that. And I am actually very, VERY cool with that.

Ditto the need for the sound track. The updated track felt imbued with the sort of strength one gains from melancholy.

And the thought that Endor didn't matter in the grand scheme of things... Well. All right then. Sullust was just the beginning. :tightens belt and gets back to work making lists:

I find it hard to argue that Endor didn't matter.

At Endor, the rebel Alliance destroyed the second Death Star. At Endor, the Sith - Sidious and Vader - were destroyed. Had the rebellion lost at Endor, the Empire would not have shattered and the Alliance would not have been presented with the perfect opportunity to establish a parallel government in their so-called New Republic, and all hope of ultimately defeating the Empire would have been lost.

Expecting that Endor would be the end of the war is/was probably a bit much to hope for, however.

Endor definitely mattered. The new novels up to this point have well established that. Based on the end of Lost Stars, though, the New Republic may have gotten complacent and let the Empire retreat into a Remnant, much like we saw in the EU. The difference is in the new canon they spent a long time building back up.

One of the wookiepedia articles suggests that the fragmentation of the Empire didn't utterly destroy it like it did in the Legends turn of events. The Galactic Civil War is still raging, but this time the bad guys are not largely pushovers for the triumphant rebellion.

Movies and trailers are nowadays flashy, action-packed, rushed like a rollercoaster ride while old movies and trailers take their time.
