Poe's pilot card art

By HolySorcerer, in X-Wing

Does anybody know why Poe isn't flying his black/orange X-Wing on his pilot card? It can't be because they needed to keep his colors a secret, as all the Legos and other stuff came out before or at the same time as the new core set.

Probably Consistency. Since the miniature is grey/blue, his card should be too.

Also, we've seen him in a blue/grey, above that lake.

I am guessing that Poe doesn't fly his fancy one until later in the movie. Maybe his first one gets trashed and then he gets to fly his fancy unique hero ship in the last big battle.

It's a possibility, but the other pilots in the game don't follow that rule.

Okay, fair point. However, we don't know when Poe flies his Black and Orange X-Wing.

Because FFG didn't get information about that color scheme.

That's unlikely.

I think this right here is a reason.

Poe was flying the blue and grey X-Wing in the first few trailers, or at least it was cut so it looked like he was flying a blue and grey one in the trailer.

So either he flies the blue and grey X-Wing at some point in the movie or the marketers were trying to keep the black and orange one secret at the time.

Im betting it is more of a Rebel Aces 2.0 thing.

The pilot card represents the pilot, not the specific ship they fly.

It'll probably be a title card later on.

We already have a card like this. Prince Xizor and the Virago

I'm actually surprised there isn't a card art showing them skimming water like in the trailer.

I'm actually kinda' surprised about that too.

Sure, maybe he flies his custom painted T-70 in the third act of the film, but their marketing blitz with all the Star Wars merch sure isn't being shy with "Poe's X-Wing". I'm just kinda surprised that FFG didn't even have it in his art, though I'm sure they'll release a special paintjob T-70 in an upcoming $100 expansion pack like they did with the Tie Advanced.
