The Z's and Y's

Looking at another option for a local tournament and i cant get vassel working to test it so i need you guys and girls help!

So low Ps of 2 all round but then it means i get to pick the order of activation

Anyways list idea is...

2x Z95 both with concussion missiles and munition failsafes

3x Y-wings with blaster tuerrets.

Help and abuse is needed to prod me in the right direction for competitive play

Blaster Turrets are not, have never been and never will be competetive outside of very edge cases, like the ultra focus HWKs with Recon Specialist and title or Kavil with R4 Agromech. Unmodified 3 dice attacks are bad. Concussion Missiles are pretty accurate and Munitions Failsafe isn't all that good. Missiles are hard to use and I would in general not recommend taking them to a tournament.

From the same ships I would make something like this. What does your collection look like? Helps to know that to give you better advice, that can be actually usefull to you.

I have at the moment. 4 YWings 3 T65 Xwings 1 T70 Xwing 2 Z95 3 Kwings yt-2400. 2 tie fighters 2 tie/fo 4 tie interceptors ( 2 normal and 2 imperial aces)

In that case drop the Astromechs, give all Y-Wings TLTs and upgrade two of them to Gray Squadron Pilots, and you have a pretty competetive list.

So 2 gold 2 grey all with TLT?

Why are TLT so good in competitions? Its 6 attack dice but you csn only ever do 2 damage which can be evaded?

That adds together to 8 damage on the ideal turn, which isn't too hard to create. Thats two turns to kill Fat Han or RAC, therefor it is really good.

They do almost as much damage as a 4 dice attack but are more reliable and have better math.

Not really. As it stands the TLT is really efficient and slightly undercosted. Without the damage cap it would have to be around 14 points (pure guess) to remain balanced.
