Corran + BB-8?

By Ailowynn, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I realize that this is probably worse than many Corran + R2-D2 builds, but what do you think of Corran + BB-8 + Advanced Sensors + PtL (+Engine)? Or with VI instead of PtL? Or FCS in place of Advanced Sensors?

You lose the ability to regen shields, but on the other hand, you could get up to three actions per round, before and/or after moving, with no stress to show for it -- and the E-Wing's dial, which has some solid green maneuvers. You can't tank as well, but you can dodge arcs easier. Could this be a sweet spot between the VI + FCS Corran and the more expensive (and despicably hard to kill) PtL + AdvS Corran?

I think u outlined it already the classic Corran build is effective n hard to kill, arc dodgers are gd but the r2d2 build is gd at staying alive as it is

I think, in the end, BB-8 is going to suffer a lot in this game (and my in the film) by not being R2-D2. Because, even on Poe, it can make more sense to stick with shield regen instead of an added layer of maneuverability.

I don't think it's worth it. At all.

FCS or Jammer in place of Adv. Sens. if you are running BB-8, those 2 together is just redundant.

It's slightLy redundant with corran, but SIGNIFICANTLY redundant with sensors

If you take bb8, it's almost certainly to take FCS/jammies while maintaining stressless ptls

Speaking of, could be money on Eathn

Yeah I think BB-8 could be better on Etahn. PtL, FCS, and BB-8 allows him to do every action on his action bar every turn, without stress.

Flip a green, barrel roll, focus for stress, do green move, clear stress, evade, then FCS shenanigans. He'll be so difficult to kill that people will just focus on the rest of the squad first--leaving him free to deal out crit after crit.
