@FFG: How about making the Assault Frigate Mark I

By TheRealStarkiller, in Star Wars: Armada

Hello FFG,

how about this ship below for one of the next waves?

Yes I mean the one in front of the Guppy, the Assault Frigate Mark I:

C'mon, FFG, I know you want it too.

Looks good.

You know we are at the beginning of a high demand game, I would not discount anything at this point.

My two AF mk-1 had a field day at the massing of Sullust event I went to yesterday.

Their holo projection cloaking field, disguised them as Guppys :P

The mk-2 should be labled the mk-1/2.

I wonder how many people asked FFG customer support where the rest of the ship was?

I hate some of you people and all your creativity.... :o

I want that ship.

Luckily, you can replace creativity with money in lots of situations!

Also, I like that ship, it seems to fit better aesthetically than the potato

I agree. I didn't want to wait for them anymore. I would buy it all official like anyway. Look at this way, if they make a dreadnaught, this ship will follow.

My favorite Rebel ship. Why they went with the Mk-II before the Mk-I is beyond my compehension.

Lovely model, which one is it? Linky please :)

Nice! I think we'll definitely see this one in future waves. It's too nice a design to pass up.

Unfortunately, I think don't it will be prioritized like the Episode 7 ships. They'll likely ride the crest of that one first.

"Holo projection cloaking field" sounds suspiciously like some Eldar technology has surfaced in the hands of the rebellion. ;)

I agree Tareq, why they used the MkII is beyond me.

Someone posted on here somewhere that the Mark II looks like they started to build a "super awesome" warship but ran out of money. seems about right. here's hoping they make the Mark 1 as well.

That's Utar's resin cast I believe. Mel Miniatures has a somewhat different (Type VI) take on it. You can find links to both (and cards) here .

AFmkII: the reason I have 8 small ships for my rebs...

I assume they used the Mark II because one of their designers really enjoyed playing Star Wars Empire at War. Im guessing thats why they picked the MC30 model as well.

On a side note that game is awesome and if you, haven't played, you should give it a run through.

I actually like the Mk2.... Not much of a star wars fan other than the movies until this year, so that may be why.

We forgive you. ;)

If this would be my model I wouldn't ask FFG to do it ;)

Ha, ok. Where did you find the picture? Link?

I still want them to do it so all will accept me using it lol. There is always people who will not bend on custom stuff for obvious reasons.

Quick Paint:

Chaos Black Spray Basecoat

Vallejo Dark Sea Green superstructure

Drybrush or highlight Superstructure with Dark Sea Green mixed with lighter grey or white

Vallejo Green Grey Panels and Blisters

Mix Nuln Oil/Agrax Earthshade wash on whole model

Vallejo Green Grey the panels again

Drybrush whole model with Vallejo Stone Grey

Add chips and scratches with smoke or Panzer Crew Uniform Highlight applied with piece of sponge mostly dabbed on a cloth before application

Paint engines Ultra Marine Blue mixed with Vallejo Neon Blue. Drybrush surrounding area for light glow

Mix in white and paint closer to engine center and dyrbrush surrounding area more lightly

Mix more white for very center and extreme edge highlight the glow areas.

Done.

If you say mk 1, you must also say Dreadnought

MKII may have been easier to do? A design without any stats outside of the lame ones from EAW so they can define their own character for it?

I'm also surprised they went with the H-9 scurrg. Who remembers that thing, and why do we have to have it? I'd rather have a K-Wing squadron.

And I rather have a shuttle for intel.

Not that I dislike the Jumpmaster as a model. Its just the thought that the Empire has to rely on Bounty Hunters to support their Bombers, while their support craft isn't in the game yet.
