I think the Lambda just found a new buddy.

It's only a short clip, but I would have to assume those are new troop transports being escorted by that TIE Swarm.

They're.... they're....... tubes?

Don't lie, everyone wants to fly a pew pew tube!
Pretty sure that's this:

Kinda looks like a Higgins boat with a command deck.

Yep. They're basically boats in space, and they're no Lambda successor. No, they're more of a Sentinel Successor with no apparent hyperdrive and a short range capability.
Based on their size, anyway.
The First Order seems to very much enjoy planetary siege..!

Oh god, the truth right there.
"Okay it's cool Larry she doesn't have her power armor."
"But the Morph Ball was pretty big dude."
"So?"
"So without it, couldn't she just... Crawl?"
"Crawl?"
"Yeah, like we do! Claws and knees!"
"But humans don't have claws."
"Oh, good point. We'll be fine, she'll just rot out there then."
"...Say, why's this ship landed anyway? Not like we're occupying Zebes right now."
"...Eh."
Pretty sure that's this:

As much as I dislike the look of that thing, calling it a Higgins boat is a good call and may force me to actually like it....
We will see
Jokes aside, ffg has done a great job so far with ships that I would have never considered to have tactical value. Interested to add it to the fleet.
Looks like it's got great firepower and can carry crew. 2 crew on a small base could be interesting.
Edited by Captain LackwitI was expecting a kylo ren shuttle.

Pew tubes are better than poo tubes.

I dunno, I rather like the Imperial Higgins Boat.
It's as if a Sentinel and a DX-9 had a baby, and 30 years later it's all grown up.
Yeah this is the Lambda successor :

Will it have a valid function in x-wing though, it's a troop transport but only in epic would boarding actions make sense.

With the slow but growing acceptance and inclusion of epic, did you not just answer your own question?

There's alot of difference between making a ship like the raider for epic only games and a large based ship that's just for epic.
Large base ships should work in both versions imo.

Maybe epic only title that gives the boarding action, where in standard play it just does other stuff.

You know I was actually pondering something tangential to this today.
Epic Small based ships. There is a precedent for ships having different stats depending on the pilot cards, notably the mil. falcon. What if we got special epic aces with extra firepower, native 5 agility etc?
To kinda figure out a non epic use for that ship.... same as a shuttle? give it systems, crew. but give it a team slot too. Let it jam stuff, act as a support ship in your 100 point games, but give us a stormtrooper team for epic?
Of course I still, after nearly 2 years of looking at this puzzle maintain that boarding actions are not and should not be in the scope of x-wing (Capturing a corvette even with a group of 40 elite troopers woulds till take minutes, each turn is a few seconds). And would be better done in IA interludes.
How I'd do it: mission to disable ship. Imperials must cripple rear of ship.
Mission to escort transport (optional, depending on enemy forces).
IA mission to board, possibly 2-5 separate missions for control of various parts of ship.
Alternate: Boarding parties that upon making an action at R1 may roll an attack dice or two and if successful may remove an enemy team, crew or if sabotage maybe upgrade.
Edited by DariusAPBI pictured boarding more as a debuff like an ion token, having people attack even if they fail will be a distraction.
True. Personally though, I think it's best left to narrative campaigns, either as an automatic achievement for crippling that vette/ioning that shuttle etc or done in IA.
The most interaction i'd do is an X-wing / IA mission where you do a turn on each game, so if the guns are taken over in IA then they can be used in XW.
