Interest check: Knight Level "Clone Wars" forum RP

By Rakaydos, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Monday.

Totally forgot about discipline. :P

How many Knight builds here would be thrown off by a 1 rank discipline requirement?

All of my characters have Discipline 1.

Even the clone trooper (he's not going to flinch in the face of fear!)

So, with the whole raffle thing ... here's a full Jedi in case my apprentice loses.

Both knight and padawan have a rank in Discipline. It's almost a given for a Jedi.

Could someone clarify the minimums for a Jedi Knight. They seem kind of spread out.

Let me see...

Force Rating 2

Reflect 1

Discipline 1 (probably, not sure yet), Knowledge (Lore) 1, Lightsaber 1

Enhance (basic power), Influence (basic power), Move (basic power + 2 upgrades), Sense (basic power)

The Sense (basic power) prerequisite can be substituted by the Sense Emotions talent. Also, Mentor bonus applies for the various Force powers, meaning that their basic powers cost 5 XP less.

Yeesh, my Jedi General's going to take a hit from that one...

I thought it was Reflect 2?

Not from what I can tell after going through the GM's posts one by one. :P It used to be Lightsaber 2, but that got changed.

All sourcebooks are open I assume? Also might I suggest, instead of requiring two upgrades of move, just require two upgrades on -any- of the basic powers, as it seems a little cookie cutter to have all the Jedi running around with the same powers.

Yes. And what Rakaydos said originally was "Move with upgrades". In plural, so we guess it's at least two, but a bit hazy anyway.

Has anyone noticed there are 4 Niman Disciples? And for non-saber trees, 2 Protectors and 2 (Sage or Seer, which is basically the same idea).

That makes one think, I guess.

Doesn't sound like a problem, really. For reflect there are only four sabre-styles anyway...

Yeah. Makashi and Shii-Cho do not have Reflect. Protector does have it though, which explains the Protectors, as they do not actually need a lightsaber spec to pull it off.

As for Sage and Seer, they are the cheapest way to get the Force Rating talent I believe.

And Niman is a nice all-around spec, having both Reflect and Parry, as well as Defensive Training. Plus, it is the only lightsaber tree that has both the Dedication and Force Rating talents. Add to that a couple of face talents such as Nobody's Fool and Sense Emotions and it does seem to be a bit of jack-of-trades. And as a bit of a cherry on top, it has Niman Technique, a useful little thing when you are going to have quite a few Force powers as a Knight and thus could do with a higher-than-average Willpower.

Sorry about the spread out requiremets.

Concerning move, It didnt seem reasonable to have a Jedi Knight wandering around with an un-upraded move... though I suppose Kieran Halcion's grandfather is an old-canon counterexample...

You would not by any chance consider going with, say, 3 Knights, 2 Padawans and 2 Clone Troopers now, would you? Just checking... :) :D

Actually, an un-upgraded Move seems more useful than an un-upgraded Influence.

Just a heads up, but I will submit just the Padawan after all. I have made the change in the list I posted in the previous page as well.

Since I'm not planning on making a Jedi can I submit a second Clone or will that open the floodgates and should I just stick to the rules?

Um, I'm pretty sure that "raffle" thing was just a figure of speech. I at least hope Rakaydos is going to pick characters and players himself rather than leaving it up to chance. But correct me if I'm wrong Rakaydos.

When's the raffle? :P

See a yellow face with a red tongue out? Means I'm joking. Really. I'm not serious. Like, never.

The list has been updated.

Also, I think you have put the Move upgrades under Enhance.

Since people are getting some sheets to me, here's some of my houserules:

...

True aim's effect replaces the blue die from aiming normally.

Precice aim (EoE only, apparently) gains the effects of aiming nrmally, including the blue die.

...

Why the change to True Aim, btw?
