I mean, maybe 3rd time IS the charm for the Empire? New order?
Dibs on it also being called the Star of Death
(also, where's Luke? Unless he's the Sith! - Ruh Ro!)

Aah, please, no.
That's just SO lame!

Never seen star trek into darkness huh?

The funny thing is I have seen it. I'd just completely forgotten, because forgettability was the primary attribute of that movie.
At least we'll have Rian Johnson for Ep8.

Ren being Darth Joker all along would be absolutely hilarious.
I'd need a better picture, but it looks like they've got another ridiculously impractical lightsabre.

Other than the broadsword, you mean?
We've known quite a bit about that thing since...April? Without spoiling too much....it is no Death Star.
Non-force sensitive fools with lightsabers. I hope Luke shows up to kick some poser butt.
Huh.
So that's Starkiller Base.
That's pretty metal.

I've got a serious issue with this too. They took the cool, sci-fi elegance of the lightsaber and turned it into an anachronistic flaming broadsword. It looks stupid, plain and simple. As a gigantic Star Wars fan, for this and several other reasons, I'm NOT looking forward to Episode 7.

Dude.
It's a poorly constructed unstable homemade hodgepodge lightsaber from a guy that shops at Sith Goodwill.
Of course it's going to be "BHRGHRGHRBHRG" the lightsaber.
Yeah Luke's (now Finn's it seems) is still very much the way it always was. It's just this particular 'sith' one that's different and a bit sputtery. It's been known for a while now that he made it himself out of stuff he's found and cobbled together.

Kylo Ren is A not a Sith and B not Luke. Kylo Ren is played by Adam Driver and a member of the Knights of Ren.

ITT, people that know their stuff.

Anachronistic?
A lightsaber is a laser sword wielded by knights. The entire concept of a lightsaber is intentionally anachronistic.

Why do you assume those characters are not Force sensitive? Generally in Star Wars people using lightsabers can use the Force.
Edited by WingedSpiderThat said, what I love is that still 2 (nearly 3) trailers, a poster and a whole mess of merchandise in and we still hardly know ANYTHING. This is the first glimpse of what we assume is the big bad thing to destroy of the film, but even that we don't REALLY know 100% yet or what it actually does.
We don't even know Rey and Finn's second names, which JJ said they have but has been kept from us on purpose.
So even the stuff in this thread so far is hardly spoilers, as we still only know like 10% of this movie, if that.

From what J.J. has said and clues in the Aftermath book.
If you ask me, the prospect of somebody who's not force sensitive, using a lightsaber, is interesting. How often do we actually see that? It's rare, but it would be interesting.
It has been said, that all the toys released so far are all drawn from the first third of movie.
Well here's what Rey appears to have:

Yeah, uh, unless we're looking at completely different posters you appear to be conflating the broadsaber and a quarterstaff.
Nah that's your screen. On this poster are Kylo's red broadsword (behind Rey I'll grant you) and Finn wielding Luke's old saber.
Rey just has the staff we've seen her with in other media. Poster just makes it appear (in low-res/bad screen versions) that Kylo's red blade is part of her staff.
Oh yeah, you're right... makes way more sense (not Kylo Ren's sword). Probably should've changed the angle of her staff in the poster.
